Hey all, loved the soul drinkers novels, and got to thinking about a small force for fun. Now, since the books have dispelled Rogal Dorn as their primarch, any thoughts on who they belong to? Any recommendations for a parent chapter trait for the table top? They excel at close range firefights and boarding actions, so blood angels for the ferocity and Iktinos's flock (a la death company) is obivous IMO. Tho interromancy from Dark Angels really seems like Sarpedon could use it and telepathy to great effect (both in practice and fluff wise) as well as their improved overwatch skills. Any thoughts appreciated.

Either imperial fists or ultramarines I think. Bolter drill is nice

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."

Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

I would use the Fists - because that is how they fought, afaik.

In the novels it is revealed that they arent sons of Rogal Dorn. They have none of his genetic markers. The soulspear is just a weapon anyone can use. The mechanicus were able to wield it even.

That's my point in the first book the souspear could only be used by the sons of dorn but as the series went on all that changed.

It's been a while since I read the books, but one bit of doctrine that sticks in my mind is where they resort to the cunning tactic of standing in a line and shooting with their boltguns to win the day to defeat a particular foe. Can you say BOLTER DRILL. Which is funny as IIRC that book was published years before Imperial Fists got Bolter Drill as a Chapter thing (it used to be a Lysander thing).

When in doubt: Ultramarines.

I've always thought blood angels would work, specially with all the chalice iconography.

Sarpedon could be a counts-as mephiston.

Blood angels models painted in purple would be pretty cool
