Ancient Space Wolves Venerable Dreadnought
I... actually don't know. Help?
|
Thinking about getting some Valkyries for my SW (Female Vikings), so what bitz do I use for the heads? I'd prefer not to use third party bitz.

Most GW female heads are for small fantasy races and will look somewhat tiny on a Space Marine.
Unless you want to go hacking lumps out of SoB, you're going to need to look at compatible third party.
Unless you consider leaving the helms on, and adding winged decor to the helms.
Welcome to the world of wanting female minis in 40K. Have a chair.

Burn the Heretic!
That good?
IIRC the Immolator kit has plastic SoB heads that don’t require a Dremel to get off an ancient chunk of metal. That’s the only GW kit that might work that comes to mind. 3rd party is really the answer here.

Behold the power of 20 seconds of googling.
28mm "heroic" (IE space marine) scale female heads. Regular, veteran, or bald options.

He/she doesn't want third party sources, though. So just GW parts.

GW stores should be OK so long as 50-80% is GW parts (depending on store manager)

But... but... the bodies are so... manly. We all know that when women wear armor, it's form fitted to a 24" waist with nicely cupped chests, right? Because obviously the best protection armor may provide is when it's form-fitting and skin-tight
But yeah, the sisters of averlorn heads are beautiful sculpts. Nice hair, too. I'm not sure how they are proportioned to space marines, and you need to do some modification to make the hair work with collars on SM torsos, and, of course, the backpacks.

The Avelorn ones look identical to Wood Elf Sisters of the Thorn heads. Which means anyone who built their kit as Wild Riders will have extra.
