Not the biggest news for most of Dakka, but a head's up nonetheless.

http://www.japanimegames.com/store/c/20-Krosmaster.aspx

Japanime Games, who distribute/ publish the Krosmaster stuff in the US, are having a HUGE clearance sale on almost the entire line via their online store.

Of special interest are their custom painted resin boards, which retail for a few hundred usually, are on sale for 150. They look something like this.

If you're interested in On the Lamb's Endless Fantasy Tactics, these boards work GREAT. Plus Krosmaster is a pretty fun game as well.

The trees and bushes are not included with the board as far as I know however.

They also have a deal on the Frigost expansion, which is an ice based level, which for 60 nets you the expansion and 3d painted resin tokens (and multiples of most of these).

6 packs of figures are down to 15 (from about 35-45 dollars).

Plus, some day, Krosmaster Quest is supposed to actually get released in English, and every single figure is actually cross compatible with both the Quest game and the currently released Arena. When Quest actually enters US distribution is a big giant question mark though.

The extent of this sale makes me wonder if they've lost the license for the game and it's going to start getting distributed by someone else stateside. Then again, what do I know?

No link? For shame, highlord!

On the resin board, I'd have been all over it except for this:

(Please note, the squares are not movable).

That really takes away the utility that it looks like it has...

Oops. Forgot the link. Sorry.

Yeah, the boards are set in Krosmaster. A lot of that is based on the tactical element of where trees, bushes, and elevated positions are, as line of sight does play a role in gameplay.

I recommend giving the game a spin. You can try it out online I believe, as every figure has an online code to use them there as well.

If my six year old gets the basics of how the game plays it can't be too difficult. Of course, she doesn't worry about things like indirect fire, healers, elemental immunity, trap tiles in choke points, locking up players in melee to get wiped by sentry turrets or other units... y'know, it really is a pretty solid skirmish game the more I think about it.

Yep the whole reason I didn't get it. If they were movable and thereby giving more configurations to play with then definitely worth it... but otherwise not much utility.

While cheap at Miniature Market, this sale is still cheaper than MM, plus they have a lower threshold for free shipping (75 vs 100) on US orders.

The 6 man packs, the duel packs, the new maps, and the Frigost terrain especially are considerably lower than MM.

(I've taken advantage of MM's Krosmaster prices quite a bit though.)

Also worth mentioning is they threw in free foil cards, free engraved & colored dice, a free promo figure I don't already own, and a free Arena coin with my order as well, and I barely broke the free shipping level.

Highlord, do you think this might have anything to do with the pretty vocal pushback in the U.S. Market In reaction to making series 3 100% blind buy?

Good question. If the blind boxes were the problem, clearing out the entire range sure seems a strange way to go about things. Although they do have the Season 3 boxes for 40 bucks.

There's a lot of stupid decisions with the development of this game, and I think a lot of them stem from the developers in France more than just Japanime here in the states. The blind boxes were there from the beginning in Europe from what I understand. I had assumed the 4 packs were a US thing. Which was stupid in and of itself, because the Season 2 figures were all available in blind boxes as well as the 4 packs. Why?

Based on my own purchasing habits, not a single blind pack was ever purchased. They weren't at a level were they would be considered an impulse buy, and there are very few stores I've come across in my adventures that even sell the damned game.

With this drastic of sale though, it does make me wonder what the future holds for the game, especially in the States.

I just want my Krosmaster Quest though.

This game would do a lot better if it was cheaper. I was lucky enough to break even with both kickstarter collector level pledges. Glad I got put of this game when I did.

If only krosmaster quest ever showed up.....

Just going to take a moment to plug our Geomancer boards, which are fully modular 3D grid terrain and only $30 for an 8x8 section.

I wonder what the ratio of failed games run by French companies looks like relative to other countries. Maybe the Rackham thing just really sticks in my craw, but every time I hear "French company" I immediately expect the worst, in a confusing and counter intuitive way.

The problem with failed French games is that they're often liked and well received, their demise caused by the most stupidest of reasons.

Yea, it is like the initial popularity is accidental or offensive to them, and they immediately try to break it after. It is just baffling how they manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

You could possibly add Raging Heroes to that list - if not now then maybe...soon?

And they started out so well too...
