Just wondering if characters that die outside of challenges give you an extra point? I've seen some contention on this issue. The first time I read through the codex I thought that they would garner a point but I'm still unsure. Any opinions?

(PS. RAI That was a very poorly placed comma)

Whilst a literal reading would say its when a KDK character dies it gives the point, most tournament FAQs, such as ITC are declaring it has to be in a challenge. RAW is muddied, but RAI seems to be challenge focused, so no suicide min cultist squads for the glory of two points a pop.

RAW is clear, that you do get the point regardless of being in the challenge or not. The context would suggest you need to be in a challenge, but does not require it.

Some tournaments have ruled one way, some another. As ever, what a tournament rules only matters for games played at those tournaments; they are not in any way an "authority" (especially not ITC, which regularly changes rules to suit, and does not label these changes as houserules)

RAW yes they do as the comma in that sentence creates two separate clauses.

Some people argue RAI it only applies to challenges. This may or may not be correct but unfortunately we have no way to be certain what the writers intended. Whenever there is contention it's usually best to stick to the RAW.

It is simple. If the character dies you get a blood point. If the character kills someone in a challenge (not shooting) you get a blood point.

If the enemy model you are fighting in a CHALLENGE both kills your character and dies .... you get 2 blood points.
