Hi there, I'm planning to buy myself a Tomb Stalker from FW... partly because I love the model and have some good conversion ideas and also because I believe it will complement my army theme. I understand that it's an under-powered model but am looking for some ways to improve how effective it would be on the tabletop.

I'm looking for anyone with personal experience of the Tomb Stalker (or with enough 40k experience in general to provide useful tactics for such a beast) who can discuss how best to run it in a list.

In addition, I have a Deceiver C'Tan... so I could use the Grand Illusion to re-deploy the Tomb Stalker instead of deepstriking/outflanking. Could be a nasty little surprise.

Keep it in cover and buy the IWND option. I think they still have Rampage, so send them after softer targets you don't want to waste your other melee options on.

I've tried every deployment option it has, and none of them get it to the enemy any faster.

It also has an appearance that makes every opponent I've faced with it shoot it like mad, which it can't really take being "only" T7 - Short of the mark where slow monstrous creatures can laugh off small arms fire.

It really needs either beast movement, one of those gimmick rules that adds 3 inches to all types of movement or some other gimmick to that effect, and hang the idea that showing up to the table late then waiting another turn is going to be any better at making it get into combat.
