Is there anyway to take a forgeworld knight via this formation, or is it not possible whatsoever? If this should of been in you make da call then I'm sorry. I put it here as its a question, not a debate.

Firstly rules questions go in you make the call. There is a thread stickied to the top of this forum that says so.
To answer your question I think so.
The forge world knights say. "may be chosen as part of a Codex: Imperial Knights army as you would other types of Knight. "
The war convocation requires one Imperial Knight Oathsworn Detachment.
The Imperial Knight Oathsworn Detachment requires 1-3 knights from the imperial knight army.
Since the forge world knights can be picked as any other imperial knight they are eligible for the oathsworn detachment, and therefore can be taken in the war convocation.

You would have to take 2 Knights in order for one of them to be a FW Knight, due to the wording of the FW Knight rukes for inclusion in 40k games.

Ah yes, I do remember that the only way to take a forgeworld knight without taking others is to take it as a LOW for an army, which unfortunately isn't an option for ad mech

Just means you want to pair it with a Gallant in a Convocation. Keeps things cheap.

You don't need to pair it as you can take one on its own. The rule states "you may not have more Cerastus Knight-Atrapos in your army than you have Knights of other kinds". The important word here is "have". If it said "you may not have more Cerastus Knight-Atrapos in your army than there are Knights of other kinds" then you would be correct. As it status "than you have" it means if you have none of any other kind you meet this condition.

You can take the Atrapos Knight just fine by the rules:
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/resources/fw_site/fw_pdfs/Horus_Heresy/Cerastus-Knight-Atrapos.pdf
There is a box in the lower left corner on how to use it in other armies of the imperium.

I guess the contention is when the knight is taken as part of an IK oathsworn detachment to which you need to apply the box above that regarding using the knight in an imperial knight army. Of course it would totally make sense that if you could take a single Atrapos in a Space Marine army, you could that one in an Imperial Knight army. It just wouldn't allow you to take three for example.
