Been awhile since I had some free time to put towards working on CSM models to gather up for a list. still not sure what legion at the moment but got to tinkering around again with Emperor's Children and Slaanesh. Khorne/KDK and Nurgle are sooo prevalent and I'd like to do something different.

Chaos Space Marines: Codex - Combined Arms Detachment (vanilla)

Headquarters - 165 points

Lucius the Eternal

Elites - 380 points

FW EC Sonic Dreadnought - Warp Amp, ML, Blastmaster

FW EC Sonic Dreadnought - Warp Amp, ML, Blastmaster

Troops - 472 points

Chaos Cultists - 17x Cultists + Champ

Chaos Cultists - 17x Cultists + Champ

Noise Marines - 6x Sonic Blasters, 2x Blastmasters, 1x Bolter w/ Icon of Excess, Champ w/ Doom Siren and MB

Fast Attack - 350 points

Chaos Bikers - 4x Bikers, 2x MG, Icon of Excess + Champ w/ MB

Heldrake w/ Baleflamer

Heavy Support - 480 points

Chaos Land Raider

Maulerfiend

Maulerfiend

Tallies up to 1847/1850.

Noise Marines and Lucius hop in LR and move forward with the pair of maulerfiends hopefully providing some cover. Once they get to midfield or to some forward objective, the noise marines will hop on out and park and offer up some loving dakka to anything in their sights.

Each cultist mob with bubblewrap a static dreadnought, each of which should be pumping out 3x S8 shots/blasts (maybe with rending on 2 of those perhaps if I'm wanting to tempt the gets hot dice rolls).

2x maulerfiends, the land raider, and chaos bikers should provide plenty of counter to high AV.

heldrake there to do its thing. although I'm contemplating swapping him out for a FW talon or FW blade.

Could even drop the drake all together and get a warpsmith to toss in the landraider since it's going to be such a fire magnet.

The other thought I had was to drop the land raider altogether and keep the noise marines back and camping something from the start and grab a sorcerer to help protect them.

Oh well, any thoughts suggestions, insight, ideas, advice, C&C, etc are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Tak

Noise Marines and Lucius wont fit in the Land Raider, capacity 10. You should just take the noise marines without any special weapons, apart from doom siren, and drop to 9 to fit Lucius in.

Painlord Titan Princeps of Slaanesh

In order to take 2 blastmasters you still need 10 men in the squad.

Also I would drop Lucius for a regular Slaanesh Biker lord and possibly get a big bike squad to milk IoE.

If you already have the fiends then leave them in the list. If not, I would recommend lascannons from oblits, predators, or havocs.

I would spam as many msu noise marines for 1 blast master.

oh yeah i did completely forget about standard LR capacity. Have redeemer and crusader still stuck in my mind and chaos do not get access to those unfortunately. It's like the loyalists and traitors sat down and had a pre heresy confab and they all decided who would get what weapons before commencing the horus heresy...

Lucius gives me access to noise marines as troops IIRC for vanilla codex. Yeah hes fluffy but a nice deterrent to assaults if there are 2 doom sirens in a squad. a marked sorcerer does not give access to special troops i thought? don't have codex with me at the office.

MSU spam for blastmasters was something i had contemplated. will post an ancillary list for them in a lil bit.

I was wondering about a list that had 3x FW EC blastmaster dreadnoughts with cultist bubblewraps. then dual slaanesh sorcerers on slaanesh steeds each with slaenesh chaos spawns coming onto the board with outflank. probably not the most killy unit but would be interesting to see sorcerer with lots of ablative wounds just tossing template loving around :-D

Automatically Appended Next Post:
So here's a variant with MSU blastmaster spam. put a lord on bike with bikers so noise marines are troops...

The hell blade has a very interesting profile so went on ahead and tossed it in the list and the model just looks cool as hell

cultists bubble wrap parked and bunkered dreadnoughts for full shooting dakka loven'...

Kept upgrades and toys minimal for more bodies on the table.

Oh well, thoughts, tips suggestions advice c&c etc are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Tak
