I dont see anything that would prohibit this, they are even referred to as datasheets withing the codex. So through this it seems you could ally just one formation from the galdius formation, getting the bonus from the formation but not from the gladius as a whole. This seems wrong though, can someone correct me?

You have it backwards. Its not that the formations come from gladius, its that gladius is using those formations. Those formations are inherently their own detachment and its gladius that is also using them.

So I could take one of those formation as allies for say a blood angels army, like the 3 stern-guard one?

Yes. Any Detachment can be included at any time in any army.

As long as the Formation in question has a datasheet, it can be used on it's own.
For example, the Deathmark formation from the Decurion, does not have it's own datasheet, and as such cannot be used by itself (in a battleforged army).

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Technically speaking, there is no Deathmark formation in the Decurion, just a Deathmark Choice. Being just a Choice does not mean it can be taken on its own in a Battle-Forged Army any more than just taking a Librarian.
