Personally I'd play DW instead of RW but it's just because I can't play bikes... Other then that they both look good so idk which one you should prioritise...

2000 pts--- 1800 pts

I would avoid DW. As much as I love them, they got hosed in the last codex. List two is very similar to something I ran the other night against a guy and almost tabled the player by turn 2.

The Imperial Knights will soak up a lot of fire while your bikes are able to zoom around the board capturing objectives better than your tactical squads can. That said, you may want to consider splitting your 6-man bike squads into squads of 3 or 4. That would allow you an extra unit to move around for more objective grabbing.

Hope this helps,

I love my DW to death, but terminators are just so bad, way to much high ap and rending(Eldar) around for them to really live through anything.

I like the bikes in larger squads because they seem to do better that way for me.

I find the ravenwing bike squads with no darkshroud are still pretty weak - especially in close combat.

I like taking 2 units of DW terminators for the fact you can late game deepstrike them onto an objective and now that they can shoot and run they are even better suited for it.

I think the reason that DW get such a bad rep is that people expect them to be meat shields when really their tactical advantage is the deepstrike (on the turn you want). And they don't fold in close combat like the ravenwing do.

If you know your opponent needs to grab a certain objective - deepstrike the DW onto it turn 4 and see how hard it is for him to push you off of it.

terminators also get a bad rep because their primary function is a unit to punch things with and anyone whos ever gotten their terminators locked up in cc knows first hand the devestation they can cause, they really are the tables smallest mob of stone cold cc killers. and the fact of the matter is that they almost never get there because either the player behind the terminators keeps ham fisting worthless upgrades like the CML into their squads and camping them at the back of the table next to the blood whirlwind, or the deepstrike them with an assault cannon to their doom, or use them as a deepstriking shot trap like the knights. they get used as cannon fodder a ton by people who rather than try and figure the unit out ham fist them into other roles (which they are varying degrees of awful at). also some people insist on spamming the buggers even though terminators never work that way and shouldnt be deployed that way ever

another problem people have is that the current meta is very fast, often games being virtually decided by the bottom of turn 2 on competitive tables and in that arena a terminator might as well be standing still the entire game compared to the lightning reflexes of jetbikes, land speeders, and flying mc's. this often makes players who take a few of them in their bike armies trying them out or whatever view them as either a waste of points or a win more unit. good if your already winning but only then.

terminators i feel should be used in the following manor:

1) take only a few squads, if the squad count exceed's 3 consider cutting back
2) someone should be in a raider or alternative assault vehicle somewhere, you will find this very effective combination
3) really take care moulding your army around the terminators and not shoving them in half hazardly, thats a recipe for disaster or at least a polarizing experience
4) try and make your army move at their pace, terminators go one speed the speed of terminator, if your army races on ahead of them and their vssel of travel then chances are their going to wind up standing around looking stupid all game. and an army too slow isnt able to capitalize on any gains the terminators make you.

DA army: 3500pts,
admech army: 600pts
ravenguard: 565 pts
