Exaclty.
Flyers and swooping monsters can't charge one another in the assault phase.
You can vector strike someone as you overfly them if you have the rule, and when you shoot you can choose to have skyfire.
So assuming both are in the air and start close-ish to one another, daemon prince might overfly the tyrant and vector strike it. Assume he doesn't wound it, so no 'grounded' test needed.
Hive tyrant then moves - turning and overflying the daemon prince in turn. His vector strike does cause a wound but doesn't ground it either. Shooting - his vector strike counts as an attack, so he can only fire one weapon. He can grant it skyfire (assuming it can be skyfired) so most likely he puts a spread of devourer shots into the daemon prince, who will most likely respond to being targeted by jinking.
...and so on. There's no charging and no being locked in combat unless one of them gets knocked out of the sky by failing a grounded test.

Last bit there: even then there is no charging and no being locked in combat for these 2 units; the one swooping cannot charge.
The one that has been grounded can get charged by another unit though.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

Represent it by 'fly by attacks' against each other using Vector Strikes, quick darts in and out of melee range that take advantage of the mobility granted by flight.
