So I figured we're not just wargaming miniature hobbyists. Some of us also have other collections/hobbies, like cards, board games, video games and such. Since those have boards of their own, I wondered what to do with those of us who collect die cast cars/planes/tanks whatever. Decided to make a thread here since this seems to be the correct board.

Anyways, who collects die cast cars, be it at the 1/18th or 1/24 or 1/38 or other scales? Here's a pic of my 1:24 Ferrari 458 Italia by Bburago. In the background you can see a Lamborghini Gallardo, Ferrari LaFerrari, Audi R8 and Mercedes S-class from right to left. Will upload more pics if there is interest:

I had a lot of 1/43 metal cars, all lost or given to kids.

I have a few, they get used as "scatter" terrain for my infinity board these days (urban board with roads/streets). Not really a "collection" though - no one set maker or theme.

I had Hot-Wheels back in the day but that was a very long time ago.

If Hot Wheels count in any way I've got a small collection, and am aiming towards collecting every model that appeared in a Hot Wheels movie or video game.

From Maelstrom to my all time favorite Vulture, I've got about 2 dozen, and I pick up 1 or 2 whenever I can.

When I was a little boy I had loads of these small scale cars, maybe 1/100, called Matchbox, and I kept them in specially produced carrying boxes.

Matchbox area still going but they make different ranges now.

The modern equivalent of original Matchbox is the Tomica range. I sometimes buy one of them for nostalgia.

I recently bought a Titanium Black die cast Imperial Transporter from the new Star Wars range. Sadly it's a piss-poor model, completely unbalanced.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

I've still got an old matchbox racecar transporter (looks like a quasi futuristic rv) - complete with the slide out tray and racecar).

NIB and nowhere near mint condition. A local collector offered me $60 for the racecar, so I sold it to him (just the racecar, all he wanted - it's the harder part to find).

That is one of the new-fangled Matchbox cars with Hot Wheels style wheels.

It's very early 80s. Like the Adventure2000 range (which gave us the "Judge Dredd" Killdozer/landcruiser tank combo.

Classic from my POV. And HW and Matchbox both used those from the late 70s. HW had stiffer (thicker) axles, though.

I don't care about the rocks with square wheels you used to play with.

Been picking up 1/43 cars for 40k terrain.

Trying to track down some more 40s cars, I love that art-deco design.

Just got a die cast Dodge Airflow tanker, I was going to paint it up for 40k but she's just too darn pretty.

Lucky it's also a bank.
