I'm considering modeling a (40k, orks) Da Lukky Stikk for general use by my army. I have a couple banners leftover from somewhere, and I'm thinking about incorporating an actual twig and painting it blue or something. I'm not feeling much inspiration, though. Anyone have any pictures of Da Lukky Stikks for me to look at for ideas?

My thought is to have a twig in the foreground of a banner, pin it, and make it equippable on several of my models for general purpose, rather than just glue a stick to someone's hand.

Interesting idea of making a banner. I've been thinking of making my own Lucky Stikk as well. Here's some options I've considered so far:
- A blue stick/twig, with some notches cut into it to represent saves/kills/etc.
- A spear with a rabbit's foot/feet/whole rabbit. Or horseshoes.
- A 2x4 board with a nail in it.
- A tree trunk/telephone pole, strapped to the back of the Warboss. (a "stikk" to an Ork.).
- A cane. (Possibly with a top-hat and monocle.)
- Other silly ideas: drumstick, ruler, broomstick, hat rack, hockey stick, golf club, etc.

Crap, now I have to go make some of these.

Or have the Stikk carried by a grot on a separate base? That would give more modelling options, and make it reusable by any Warboss. (Modelling upgrades as a separate runt/squig model is perfectly rules-legal as per the codex page 97, so I can't see any complaints about the concept being extended to a Stikk bearer.)

As to modelling the Stikk:
- it might literally be a stick or branch which the boss has decided is 'lucky'. I wouldn't use a real twig though - they tend to snap and/or look odd next to a painted plastic model. A plastic branch from WHFB might be better? Or one carved from sprue.
- a metaphorical twig, e,g, a long bone (the thighbone of a defeated enemy?)
- a techno-twig, some piece of found/looted stick-shaped/sized tech, anything from a broken power mace to some random rusty piece of girder.
- a banner pole (although this would hide much of the 'stikk')

I like the idea of a grot carrying it for ease of application for different models, but I DON'T LIKE RUNTZ.

Regardless, do you have any pictures?

There are so few grot models, especially in plastic, that I usually convert WHFB goblins to make e.g. gun crew, so I'd probably do that if I was going to model a Stikk-carrying grot. Turning a spear carrier into a standard bearer is pretty easy.

Another option, if you just don't like the little greenskins, would be a grot-sized robot (perhaps just a pair of mechanical legs?) carrying the stikk - if anyone queries it, just say it's a bionic grot who's had his whole body replaced except for his brain

Or if you like the WHFB squig models, it makes just as much sense for a warboss to use a pet squig as a Stikk carrier.

Or if it's just GW's grots you don't like, have a look at Kromlech's sci-fi 'goblins' at http://bitsofwar.com/search?controller=search&orderby=position&orderway=desc&search_query=goblin

Or http://bitsofwar.com/search?controller=search&orderby=position&orderway=desc&search_query=gnaw if you want some counts-as squigs

OK, I did mean to go home and make a few of these, but... someone beat me to the punch with the golf club idea:
Spoiler:

Couldn't resist.
