Are you ready for the Betrayal at Calth?

Getting ready for all sorts of 30k goodness, I painted up my Forge World "new website limited edition" model I really love the head that comes with this fella. It is so distinctive and expressive. The only modifications are the inclusion of chapter shoulder pads (Blood Angels, of course!) and a backpack with Blood Angels iconography. I was originally going to stick with the backpack that came with the model, but it would be out of place with all of the Calth Mk4 backpacks. And of course, extra blood jewels are good!

That's a nice Centurion. Much better paint job than the studio one I think. Plus I like the use of the BA pauldron and power pack there. It's the tactical squad power pack isn't it?

@angelofvengeance - I'm pretty sure that you're right, and the backpack is from BA Tac. I could be wrong; I desprue that kind of thing, and Death Company also has some backpacks (without the X). But I think they're from Tac.

You can't see it (I hope), but this is actually the messed up one, fixed with a bunch of greenstuff, putty, and all that wonderful goodness.

@Paradigm - Yup, I think that at least the first bunch of the Betrayal box set that I do up will be Blood Angels themed. I thought I'd start to get the itch to do some other faction by now (I've been working on BA for almost a year now), but actually, I'm still pretty jazzed about them.

I'm not sure if my next Space Marine chapter will be a Grey Knights reboot or a Dark Angels. It might depend on what I feel like playing then... But I'm pretty sure I'll do some xenos in between, either Eldar or Necron.

I want to get my hands on some of the new plastic HH models and use them to supplement in/spice up my recently started 40k Blood Angels force for tactical marines. I'll also paint up the remainder as a smallish 30k force as well, as I love the thought of 30k Blood Angels as well.

Thanks Red Thirst I think I will paint up a bunch of the HH box as blood angels, and use them for BOTH 30k and 40k I just have to convince some of my buddies here to actually play 30k.

@evildrcheese -Thank you, and borrow away The scheme was really just the way I envision a Roman centurion, in red and gold. I thought it was appropriate, given the name of the model, and I enjoy painting gold more than silver. Not really sure how I'll use him in 40k -- probably a sergeant.
