I thought I would never find a use for this stuff, but I have found under the right conditions the Repair Putty that sets in 5 minutes is quite useful. While I would never try to sculpt with it, it is kinda grainy and dries way too fast, I have found that this putty can be nice when you just need cheep, quick bulk. Need to fill a void so you can glue a magnet in there? Need to quickly and roughly bulk up a conversion so you have something to work on with your greenstuff? Don't want to use your precious greenstuff for a quick rock on a base? I have started keeping some in my miniature toolbox for just such occasions. This stuff works well and is cheep. I use this stuff by locktite that is under $4 at Walmart.

Maybe. I haven't used that one specifically but I have tried another repair putty. It worked ok, I bought it to fix an old bath tub and it worked really well for that I found it dried to quickly and coarsely to be useful for sculpting and was too tough to be useful for filling gaps. I used it to make some press moulds and it worked well for that, but not as well as greenstuff or Instant Putty.

It was close to Instant Putty in how it behaved...

But it was a bit stiffer and didn't find its way in to the mould as well and the final casting wasn't as stiff but still a bit easier to break than instant putty.

So overall an interesting experiment but wasn't really useful.

But that wasn't loctite stuff, it was I think a 10 minute plumbing repair epoxy.

Its pretty rare I use this stuff, as it has such a short working time - however, I do have some (maybe a different brand...who knows) in my hobby box, as I have occasionally found it useful on terrain projects.

My favorite overall putty to use is aves apoxie sculpt - a two part epoxy putty that is affordable (compared to greenstuff) and dries rock hard.

thanks for sharing!

It's good for quick bulk work, but I wouldn't want to do anything too detailed with it.

Great for terrain or basing, though...

I agree, that stuff another other stuff like it work great for building up bulk for terrain:
