No, I'm not trolling, I'm asking for advice.

So, today I got a box that is 2,280 square inches. I wanted to make a CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT out of cardboard from that box. Since I know little about the CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT, I want to know the following:

What are the size of the pieces to be used for it?
Do I have enough cardboard to make it?
What pieces will I have to cut out?

I appreciate any advice you could offer. Thank you.

EDIT: Meant square inches, not square feet.

Don't make models out of cardboard boxes. The results are almost guaranteed to suck.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

I presume you don't have any templates or plans to work from?

From looking at the standard model http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-IE/Crassus-Armoured-Assault-Transport , it should be possible to build an acceptable counts-as model, but it won't look nearly as good as the proper model. Personally I wouldn't even try copying something as complicated as the proper model - instead build something similar, with the same dimensions and armament, that can count-as a Crassus rules-wise.

Flat armour is relatively easy to replicate in cardboard, but think carefully about how you'll make the tracks and weapons. You may be able to find a suitable toy tank to 'steal' the tracks from and save a lot of work.

Honestly Kaptin, I'd try making it with plasticard. cardboard will be difficult.

Corrugated material will give you so many problems it's not going to be worth your time or effort. You should definitely switch your material to plasticard. There are a ton of awesome projects out there done with plasticard.

The awesomeness of a CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT can not be properly rendered in cardboard and white glue. A CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT must be fielded in all it's resin and plastic glory from the Forge World Games Workshop.

Really, I understand gamers on a budget, and way back in the early 90's when there wasn't a lot of models (anyone remember the deodorant hover tank?), this kind of thing was pretty common. Heck, I even remember seeing a card board Land Raider that was pretty kick butt. The vast majority of such things looked like .

If you are actually going to do it, I'd say get a Baneblade, and a couple Chimera's. Use the bane blade body panels as a base to make your "box", then use the Chimera's front end for the front end of your model (as well as any hatches) and the tracks.

Problems with carboard: It's very sensitive to moisture. Even the water in the glue you use will warp it. Assuming you are using PVA (white) glue. Your best bet would be the "clear" brush on glue made for paper, but it doesn't stick all that well.

Durability is also an issue. Let's face it, it's cardboard and paper!

If you are still set on it though, then good luck! And show us some pictures of your finished CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT.

So, five easy steps for the construction of the CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT (sorry couldn't resist).
Step 1: Google and print some papercraft templates for it. They exist out there and are pretty easy to find.
Step 2: Eat a lot of cereal and keep the boxes or failing that, buy HIPS sheets (the same stuff as plasticard but actually reasonably priced). I get mine from a company that sells plastic and acrylic sheets for all industries. That will give you a thin material with a smooth side.
Step 3: glue the templates to the card, or the HIPS.Cut and glue the parts together, decorate with additional bits if you want to.
Step 4: ???????
Step 5: Profit!
