Out of my Mind

Just wondering if there is anything in the Kauyon Codex that's not in the Tau Codex, as far as Tau are concerned. I'm aware the RG/WS options are in there, but not concerned about them right now.

I'm running a tournament this upcoming weekend, and it's restricted to just Codex lists/units right now. I've read that Tau players who had the previous Codex can just purchase the Kauyon book and use it with the old Dex? Need to know so I can make a ruling whether to allow it or not.

Thank you.

The fortifications aren't in the codex and are only in Kauyon I believe.

What about Formations/Detachments? Does the Kauyon have a special one that's not in Codex:Tau?

Many, but those are for Raven Guard and White Scars (some are applicable to other vanilla marines). For Tau, the only things that don't show up in the codex are the separate parts of the tidewall and 2 other fortification networks

Actually, there are changes to some units in the new Tau codex on datasheets that are not in the Kauyon expansion.

I've just skimmed it but, for example, Riptides can be purchased in squadrons (1-3) in the new codex but you won't see that with old codex + Kauyon.

False. This is noted in Warzone Damocles Kauyon with the other minor changes which do not require a complete datasheet under 'Forces of the Tau Imperium' directly above the Tau Empire Wargear List.

That's all in there.
