Hi all,

This last year or so I've been busy working on an Ork army inspired by the cover art of the most recent edition of the codex. Dark skin tones, gritty colours, and minimal highlights. Of course, such no-nonsense boyz have to be Goff klan! I've got a WIP thread over on The Waaagh, but I'll also post the finished pieces here.

Looks great! What colours did you use for the skin?

That's one of the best painted Ork trukks I've seen. It's not easy to get the Goff look to come off, especially with vehicles, but you've absolutely nailed it.

Is there a big mean Warboss, ala the codex, cover on the way?

Thanks for the comments, glad you both like the stuff.

For the skin it's literally just Elysian Green, and Agrax Earthshade. Nice and simple.

Regards the warboss, I've got two at the moment - the old metal one with the 'uge choppa, and the one from AOBR. Both I painted whilst getting myself back into painting/trialling the scheme, so I'm probably going to revisit them first.

Elysian Green is such a great color. Fantastic work on these, the whole army's going to look great on the table, especially with those checks in there to add some flair.

Hi folks, thought I'd post up my recycled old Ghaz model which I finished off just recently. Part of my goal with this army is to spend as little as possible by salvaging my old orks from when I was a kid. I had a fair job getting it use-able again, resorting to chiselling off old superglue and the like to get the refit sorted. I forgot how heavy the model is!

Again, I've used minimal colour and adornment to give him an air of 'no nonsense', but decked him out in cheques as befits a tru' Goff. A motif I'm going to sprinkle throughout the army is 'da white stripe', and Gorbash sports it right on his iron 'gob.

Glad you like!

I've just gone back and edited the post and the picture from yesterday because I realised (with fresh eyes) that the white balance was pretty whacked. Not sure why it's a bit small there too, but clicking on it makes it a bit easier to see.

Not sure how I'm going to store/transport these guys. Can see them being pretty fragile too. Anybody out there any good storage tips for metal MANZ?

This wartrakk is one from my childhood (easily 14+ years ago now) that I've converted and pressed back into service. I can't believe there still aren't new kits for these, but one day maybe!!

Cheers guys, appreciate the kind words. Spruced up my painboy today as I wasn't quite happy with the previous finish. I've called him 'Butcha', and he makes a cracking Mad Doc Grotsnik proxy.

Love the way the skin turned out. I think I might use that technique for some greenskins on my workbench.

Also, you said you chiseled off some superglue: on a metal mini you can remove super glue easily with acetone (nail polish remover). Don't use it on plastic or resin models though!!!
