Over on The Miniatures Page there is a notice of a new Kickstarter around the corner for some decent looking 15mm fantasy - Crush of Iron.

Part of me is looking at those figures and going 'You know, you could run some really BIG games in 15mm....' (A theory that has been amply proven by others on these forums.)

And at Kickstarter prices....

The Auld Grump - I am thinking of these in addition to the standard scale, I use my miniatures for enough games that I am never getting out of 28mm and its relatives.

The reason I bought rules and became a real wargamer was because I wanted a properly thought out structure to govern the action instead of just making things up as I went along.

I am planning something similar, but with units set up like in Mighty Armies, where a KoW "troop" is three figures on a 25mm x 50mm cavalry base, so two or four of those can make regiments or hordes, respectively. It'll give more of a feel about halfway between skirmish and full army scale wargaming.

Like in this pic of a Wood Elf force (not mine) using figs from Splintered Light Minis.:

At this scale a 2000pt army can be had for under 50 dollars.

I have like over 10k points or something ridiculous in 6mm. I just make each base a regiment and go at it. It hardly cost a thing to do either.

Some call 6mm stuff out there.

I've got plenty of arcane legion stuff for dirt cheap. I'm basing it to go 28mm, but it could easily fit a 15mm game.
