Some guy in my game group said he was using iron warriors. What are they lol and where are they're rules? I haven't seen anything on the GW website. Do they just use base SM rules? Could you say what they're armor and ap weapons are? Or where I could find they're rules?

Iron Warriors are Chaos Space Marines. Codex: Chaos Space Marines.

Unless he's talking about the Iron Warriors Legion rules from Forge World, which is designed for 30k games.

Agreed. Was he just using the CSM codex and saying his guys were Iron Warriors or did they have specific things like Legion Traits?

Or he very well could be rolling them as regular codex marines as thats more competitive lol.

They had things similar to legion traits, they could take a basilisk and were the only chaos faction that could take vindicators and 3 units of 3 obliterators, when at that time all other armies could take just 1 unit of 3.

That sounds like the old third edition rules for the Iron Warriors. My son played that army. Back then they also had a rule that let them take four heavy slots in the force organization chart, and loose one fast attack slot.

Those were the good times, then GW decided unless you are one of the big 5, you did not matter and the "other" legions were forgotten.

Lol just asked and they are indeed chaos marines. What do you think would do well against them? I can take GK DE Possibly Eldar, Cult and necrons. I have to take some Skitarii. Or what do they normally do? Unfamiliar with them

3 Destroyers with grav and flamers 180

GK: 950 
Librarian Lvl 3 deamon hammer 140pts 
Termies 1 deamon hammer 1 qsycannon 195 pts 
Dreadknight deamon hammer incinerator personal teleporter x2 370 pts 
Draigo 245 pts

This gives me some points to maybe give the dreadnights psycannons or i can run more grav possibly. I could consider using DE reavers or a seer council not sure what the CSM do

They die to AP3 or better fire or massed fire, like any other Space Marine or chaos space marine.

I don't like to list tailor. Take your best all-comers list and you'll do fine.

Good units he can take: Obliterators (2-wound terminator-equivalents that can spin up different shooting weapons every turn), Heldrakes (has a nice S6 AP3 template with Torrent), and Flying Daemon Princes (especially durable with some of the psychic powers).

Other than that, they are Space Marine Light.

Should I possibly toss the GK and go more shooty gunline haywire?

I mean list tailoring in retrospect he can always do what I do and put 200 points in CSM and ally in Necrons or something lol

There's not much you actually need to know. CSM's are the worst army right now. They're like Loyalists except REALLY bad.
