So I remember reading in either an older ork or chaos codex reading about Khorne keeping a horde of orks in one of his realms that he pits his generals against for practice. I was thinking of creating a chaos themed ork army based on orks fighting chaos for thousands of years and having a "kultur" influenced by chaos. I have read that orks are not swayed by chaos due to their fighting for the joy of combat, rather then power, pleasure or anything chaos can offer. I was thinking that weird boys seeing visons of pure terror from being in the a chaos domain for so long that those boys may interoperate those visions as a message from Gork and Mork. That frenzy grows could grow into a massive Waaagh. I have also read lore about orks confusing Nurgle for a giant ork and that causing them to fight for him. So I want orks that mimic the style of chaos without really understanding it. I guess Im questioning If orks who misinterpret chaos would still be subject to the same mutation as chaos worshippers without breaking the orks not being influenced by chaos rule?

Yeah, they'd be subject to mutations. In the 3.5 CSM there were some pics of mutated chaos orks iirc.
And the orks being kept by khorne is a warboss and his boyz that resurrect each day to keep fighting on a khornate world.
I see if I can look for the pic from the 3.5 codex and post it here
Mmmm now that i Kinda remember the rules it was probably from the Grey Knights codex, that allowed enemies to field a Greater Daemon as their HQ and gave the army special rules or something like that.

Cheers for digging that picture up. I wanted to make Nurgle and Khornate Orks back when I like, actually played this gak.
Would be pretty sick to give them marks of chaos. Khorne and Nurgle are pretty self explanatory (despite Orks being canonically immune to Nurgle in early fluff), Slaneesh could be Rockers and get the sound weapons, and Tzeench can go die in a fire.

There are/were the Goff Rockers models, which would work nicely for orky noise marine analogues.
And yeah, the Khornate Stormboyz used to be a thing at one point.

It's not so much that they aren't swayed by Chaos as that they already have their own Warp-entity "gods". Gork and Mork are "warp gods" in the same sense and on the same level as the Chaos Gods, they're just...Ork centric.
GW's original fluff on the Gargants was a beautiful background piece on this, on how Gork and Mork would be roused from their slumber by the gathering Waaaagh! and eventually their spirits would directly possess & inhabit the Gargants, driving the Orks into a wild fighting frenzy anf driving them to adventure.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts. |

To my understanding its possible for anything to be corrupted by Chaos, but Orks are very resistant.
Mentally they have very little to gain from any of the Chaos gods. Everything they want and need is covered by Gork and Mork.
I mean sure there are some possibilities like Speed Freakz and their insane desire for speed being a possible gateway for Slaanesh or plauged Orks turning to nurgle, but not only are those occasions beyond rare ( I would suspect) any Ork seen as being "Un Orky" would be promptly killed by the other Orks.
So to see a group of Orks actually become Chaos Orks or have significant influence from Chaos they would have to have the majority turn to chaos in quick succession.

Abaddon did some chaosy stuff to some Orks as part of a Black Crusade, if I remember rightly.
The Death Guard also had some Ork shenanigans if I remember right, where a Waaaagh got all gross and nasty, overgrown and overbloated, and the dead orks would explode into swams of Nurglings.
