So I have a small contingent of Ravenwing (12 Bikers, 4 with Meltas, and a soon to be painted Dark Shroud) and I wanted to add a little more. Which would be a better option, the Nephilim Jetfighter or the Dark Talon? The new Ravenwing Jink special rule is amazing, but I'm concerned it would render the Dark Talon useless because it's main weapon is the Large Blast at AP 2.

DT is good if you can guarantee the skies will be clear because it cant fend off another plane (actually any other plane currently on the market except for perhaps a coldstar suit commander) if its life depends on it (and it does)
the nephilim has the problem of being a plane with such a bland weapons loadout that its either going to run the skies and be unproductive with its dominion, or its going to maybe kill someone and then go down in a fiery wreck.

That's my concern. I don't play in a huge Flyer meta (maybe a Nightscythe or 2 Flyrants) but I'm worried the DT will be a huge points sink the moment anything S5 looks at it.

I would recommend the DT, since you're in a flyer light meta it has room to do it's work. Just make sure to have plenty of other threats on the board to keep it safe

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

I would forget the fliers and buy Landspeeders for a support squadron, or a ravenwing command squad.

Agreed, both fliers are pretty underwhelming. I personally wouldn't run a DT without a nephilum though.

the Dark talon is pretty effective, but yeah it has no way of dealing with being shot at, since once it jinks it's essentially an expensive civilian bus, the Nephilim is average but by no means bad
On the other hand you could get a Ravenwing command squad of Knights and just use them, since you know, they're amazing
