Hello so as I'm preening my Sisters of Battle/Inquisition/Grey Knights army I would like to have a special character inquisitor for looks and use. My army consists of 2 squads of sisters in valkyries, 2 exorcists, a celestian cc squad, Uriah, a librarian and a 5 man unit of terminators. The pros and cons of each special character I can see are this:

Coteaz - Is awsome, mainly has the psychic power that raises invuln by 1. Combined with Uriah can give my Celestians 4++

Karamazov - Looks awesome. Can bombard things when sitting on a back objective with my terminators, no 4++ for the sisters however.

Hector Rex - Seems to be a middle man between the two up above, with having a good stat-line and average cost but also being able to go with/cast Sanctuary on the Celestians. looks pretty.

Solomon Loki - cheap, Feel no pain, to be honest I'm not really feeling this guy.

What are you opinions?

For the price, Coteaz.

Otherwise, Karamazov has decent utility. Typically I only take him in a Space Marine lists though, where is attached him to a Techmarine on a Thunderfire and soak even more wounds.

I haven't a clue of the FW ones.

Lok is powerful with Iron hand marines. Get a unit on top of an objective and they have 4 up fnp.

Nope. Lok's FNP ability apples only to himself and his retinue, not just any unit he has joined.

He actually doesn't. Read the most recent rules, he generates 2 powers from the brb tables. You can roll up Sanctuary, but he'll perils on any doubles so I wouldn't try that.

He is, however, the best character in inquisition by far. He's quite good, the rest very from terrible to mediocre.

I have used Karamazov with minor success in a pie plate Marine list. Run two separate CM's with EW, and he can accurately hit whatever they're tarpitting. Then you drop Thunderfires on everything else.

I have had quite a bit of fun with Karamazov as well, buy using him with my space wolf drop pod list there has been lots of targets for him and putting a single marine next to an expensive tank for a guaranteed hit has proved to be well worth it. And the one time my GK grand master got tied up alone with a 40 man guardman blob and Karamazov droped 2 barrage bombs on the combat he realy proved his worth.

Solomon lok has an awsome model and is decent for his points cost with artificer armour, master-crafted power sword, digital weapons and a serv-skull. Against less close combat oriented armies he'll pretty much always get his points back and with WS and I5 he's pretty good at killing seegeants in challanges.

As many have said already, coteaz is well worth his points in almost any army.

Hector Rex seems too expensive for what he does, exept that he is more survivable he seems to do less for the army than Coteaz while costing significantly more. But if facing daemons he could ptovr pretty useful and ge does come with guaranteed sanctuary which could perhaps be used for something even if he perils on any doubles

My armies:
vior'la sept 12k
Erik Morkai's great company 6k
dark mechanicus, the dearth of hope, 8k
rothwyr morwan's company 1,5k
Adeptus custodes 2k
AoS, The forgotten order, SE, 3k

Indeed. Lok is pretty tasty in a fight against anyone without an AP2 weapon.

Hector Rex getting sanctuary and carrying a storm shield is pretty damn awesome.

Coteaz- Awesome pure bargain as everyone has said.

Karamazov- can be great with super cheap inquisition units as suicided squads to get precision orbital bombardments, otherwise pretty expensive for just a minor MC like character

Hector Rex- I really like playing him, I think he still knows Sanctuary by default, the model is beautiful, although he is like a lesser Draigo for not that few points.

If you plan to run Celestians, well, I think there are better options in the SoB for the points. I do like to run Jacobus as my warlord in a 20 girl blob with another priest or two for hte 5++ and buffs, with sanctuary they could get even tougher to kill, especially in CC.

Coteaz gets you psychic level 2, artificer armour, a daemon hammer, a pigeon that's killed tanks for me, and super interceptor.

For one hundred points.

Lok has served me well in the past. He's dirt cheap fairly durable for an inquisitor and i've had him kill a lot of characters. He's not gonna krump Ghaz or Draigo but against alot of generic HQs he can put up a good fight.

that being said coteaz is the best over all. For 100 points he brings so much to the table. Just wish he could get an invul save. t3 and I1 is a gak combo.

You should get Karamazov for looks anyway even if you don't play him. I've only used him and coteaz, and coteaz shines so bright.
