This is the first ever film to explore the fascinating world of Miniature Wargaming, which is played by millions of people across the globe. The featured film will contain exclusive interviews & stories from industry leaders such as Rick Priestley, Alan & Michael Perry, John Stallard and Paul Sawyer. Representatives from Warlord Games, 4Ground, Wargames illustrated, Hawk Games and many more leading companies in the sector.
About The Film
I have been working along side some of the leading companies in the Wargaming industry. They have agreed to allow me to go behind the scenes, grant me exclusive interviews, featuring personal stories and to document their creative processes. This will enable viewers insights into the journey from idea through manufacture and marketing that brings their games to your table top.
I will also be following two rookie gamers who will be entering into competitive tournament gaming for the first time. See how they prepare together, train together and then put their friendship aside to see who comes out on top.
Plus exclusive interviews with some of the most experienced gamers in the world who will share tips on how to win!
The film will also include interviews with many other people who support the hobby, such as youtubers, commission painters and independent retailers. An exclusive arrangement has been agreed with Warlord Games to document the process from concept, design, the many stages involved in manufacturing and marketing miniatures.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

4ground is a leading company in the industry? I think they make terrain and have heard of them once or twice. Either way, from that list of companies it seems like a who's who of UK tabletop games (with Battlefoam's logos thrown in on the actual KS page). And while the UK has been incredibly important to developing the tabletop hobby, I'm sad to not see some old (non-UK) greats like Battletech along with more modern non-UK favs like FFG and Corvus Belli. That might just be a side effect of the locale of the creator and maybe the funding will widen the scope a bit.

Okay.
Representatives from Warlord Games
Get away.
What Warboss said. I get the feeling some 'representatives' caught a whiff of getting 'Warlord and Chums: The Movie' made for them.

I wonder if a Judgedoug cameo in the video like Stan Lee in Marvel movies can be a stretch goal. It does seem Warlord centric but maybe they're the only ones who responded or the creator's person favorite company. There are some notables missing from the UK gaming scene like the 800lb gorilla Games Workshop and to a lesser extent Mantic (to continue the "lets list the people who used to work for GW" theme). Alessio Cavatore has his fingers seemingly in everyone's pot so I'd guess he'd show up with River Horse somewhere in there. In the modern age of telecommunications, I'd at least think they'd want to have some interviews with other more distant companies even if only by Skype until a stretch goal unlocks travel expenses for a true in person interview. I also forgot Battlefront/ FOW in my list of companies I'd have liked to have seen in there. Gencon would be a good time to schedule a bunch of interviews with US companies at least.

To be fair they are all ex employees of Games Workshop and Wargames Foundry as well, so it would kind of make sense to have them included (since I have no doubt that GW wouldn't let active employees be in a film)
I'd like some interviews with Andy Chambers and Gav Thorpe and Alessio Cavatore and Ronnie Renton too
though maybe what I want is just a " GW: Inside Scoop 1980-2010" movie instead... Automatically Appended Next Post: warboss wrote:I wonder if a Judgedoug cameo in the video like Stan Lee in Marvel movies can be a stretch goal.
LOL just a shot of me thumbs-upping the camera with a sexy poster of Alessio Cavatore in the background

"...and special thanks to Judgedoug!" - Alessio Cavatore "Now you've gone too far Doug! ... Too far... " - Rick Priestley "I've decided that I'd rather not have you as a member of TMP." - Editor, The Miniatures Page "I'd rather put my testicles through a mangle than spend any time gaming with you." - Richard, TooFatLardies "We need a Doug Craig in every store." - Warlord Games "Thank you for being here, Judge Doug!" - Adam Troke |

The industry we all love is alot smaller than I suspect most of us think. I say this article today about the Kim Kardashian mobile game making $200 million last year.
http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/11/05/kim-kardashian-game-developer-being-sued
To put that into perspective, that is equal to or a bit more than ALL of Games Workshop across all their subsidiaries and product lines took in... :(
http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2015/07/games-workshop-2014-15-annual-financials.html
With an industry that "small", I'd hope the film would cover more than just Warlord and Friends.
