Bit of a click-baity title there, sorry about that.
Anyway. Was sticking together a metal great eagle today and was having a devil's own time getting the wings to stick. Was just about to either give up or try to learn how to pin things, when I remembered what I used to do to get metal models to stick them to their base. I used to use a little of the foam that came in blister packs and stick them to that.
So what I did with my eagle was to cut a little strip of packing foam to approximately the right shape, put glue into the gap for the wings then pressed the foam into that gap. Then I applied more glue to the foam and squashed it into place with the wing. The foam squashed down completely and the wing stuck on solidly in about 30 seconds!
Has any one else tried this? I seemed to work pretty well (though the first time I used a little too much foam and it looked like the eagle had underarm hair!).

How on earth did you come up with that?
Anyhoo.. I ALWAYS pin my metal minis, glued with Superglue
My plastic ones were glued using Testor Liquid Plastic Cement.
Resin minis are pinned depending on size.. But glued using superglue..
On the very rare occasion i cant pin metal minis, I use Green Stuff and superglue..

Bicarb also gets superglue to harden faster and works as a filler for gaps.

I always used Testors Contour Putty.
Place a bead of contour putty on one side and superglue on the other and press them together. The reaction between the putty and the glue would set it rock hard in moments.

Tjomball, just tried it out basically. Been sticking metal Warhawk Riders today. It really does hold things solid in about 30 seconds!
One caveat - they will need some green stuff around the join of the wings, though the fit there wasn't great in the first place!
