I believe no. As the farsighted enclave is its own detachment, which is separate from the firebase support cadre

It can take the Hunter Contingent, but you still have to follow all the detachment modifiers for Farsight Enclaves, such as one Crisis Team must be three man, even though they can now be up to 9 models.

The Farsight Enclaves is not a special detachment, instead, it is a modifier to a Tau detachment, following all the rules listed within.

Actually it is a supplement for the Codex: Tau Empire.

It wouldn't change anything with a Choice Detachment units, as none of the FE changes affect any Roles that are mission-oriented.

About the real differences is the Signature Systems and the Samurai 8 and Ethereal Restrictions. The Samurai would not be able to be taken, as they are named models (though, you can recreate the Crisis Suit ones).

I disagree. They already ruled previously not allowing FBSC in FE. This would mean formations from Codex Tau cannot be used in FE. Rumors are a new Farsight Supplement will be coming out soon though

Who ruled? I don't see anything in GW's FAQs about what you're talking about.

In the requirements for the Farsight Enclaves, the detachment must have at least one XV8 Crisis Team that consists of three Crisis suits. If you take a FBSC as a standalone detachment, you can't purchase any Crisis suits and thus can't fulfill the requirements of the supplement. However, with a Hunter Contingent, since it is all the same detachment, you can fulfill the require of having a three man Crisis Team in the Hunter Cadre and then take the FBSC. Making Crisis Teams troops also does nothing since the Hunter Contingent does not grant objective secured and calls out each unit by name, not Battlefield Role. Just remember you have to pay for Bonding Knifes for everyone in the Hunter Contingent.

The only downside to this is you cannot purchase Farsight in a Hunter Contingent and thus cannot purchase any member from The Eight.

If a formation is taken on its own (not part of whatever the Tau Decurion-esque detachment is called), it cannot be from Farsight Enclaves, unless it includes at least one unit of Crisis Suits, and does not include any restricted units.

@notredameguy10: The reason FSBC could not be from Farsight is it was its own detachment, and could not meet the requirements of FE (must include a 3-suit Crisis Team).

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Outside Hunter Cadre or Retaliation Cadre, you cannot use the other formations as Farsight Enclaves for the moment. It's better to use them with CAD anyway, as Crisis with ObjSec are pretty good.

The Mont'ka book will be available by Black Friday; I expect many shenanigans involving Crisis suits there, opening more formations for FSE usage.

FSE will get a new book by February; I guess GW will remove the "must have 3 Crisis unit per detachment" rule.
