Hi all,

Obviously, there are two model kits available to represent the different Leman Russ variants - the basic one that enables you to build the LRBT, exterminator, eradicator or vanquisher, and the demolisher one that enables you to build the demolisher, the executioner or the punisher.

In the game, the demolisher-based tanks have thicker rear armour. However, is this actually represented on the model? The reason I ask is that this could potentially enable me to mix and match turrets more easily.

Thanks in advance.

No, the chassis is the same. The guns, exhausts, hatches and fixtures are customisable, but the basic box is standard.
The dozer blades are the only visible armor you can fit iirc.

The chassis are different - look at the sprues:

Chasis are actually slightly different, the demolisher one has small buttresses on the rear detailing, whereas the standard Russ doesn't. The boxing beneath the turret is also ever so slightly different, however, both differences are so minute as to be negligible. There is nothing to suggest thicker armour however.

Edit: Ninja'd!

Ya, but if you look at the rear of the chassis, the differences are very minor. I don't think any opponent is going to notice much less mind you swapping turrets between the chassis.

I'd never spotted that, despite painting four. Good grief.

Oh no one will care about mixing the parts around. I've just built a Russ, a punisher, and a dkok demolisher, and switched bits between them all. That's half the fun of the hobby.

The old demolisher came with a separate metal armoured engine cover - the newer one comes with it pre-moulded onto the hull.

I have nine Leman Russes and I never noticed those small changes... Epic

Granted, only three of them are the new models.
