I am considering selling my old Raven Guard army, its in the neighborhood of ~2k Points, and I basically want to start over from scratch. I am trying to get an idea of value. Rough retail estimate is ~$550. Obviously I could go either way from there (probably down?). Also I would include the display board with the army.

Here is a list of what's included:

HQ:
Captain w/ Jump Pack + Lightning Claws (My own converted Shrike back before they had a model, its based off the old Templar Marshal body, and terminator lightning claws)
Shrike (Missing Jump Pack) PRIMED BLACK
Elites:
2 x Dreadnought (1 x TL Lascannon + DCCW, 1 x TL Lascannon + Missle Launcher)
Troops: (35 Scouts)
13 x Scouts with Sniper Rifles (2 old Cadian Sniper Models)
2 x Scouts with Missle Launcher
1 x Scout with Heavy Bolter
8 x Scouts with Bolt Pistol + Close Combat Weapon
1 x Veteran Scout Sergeant with Power Sword + Bolt Pistol
1 x Veteran Scout Sergeant with Power Fist + Bolt Pistol
4 x Shotgun Scouts (PRIMED + 2 Base Colors, Unfinished)
1 x Scout Sergeant with Bolter (PRIMED + 2 Base Colors, Unfinished)
Fast Attack: (29 Assault Marines + 5 Bikes w/Attack Bike)
18 x Assault Marine with Bolt Pistol + CCW (A couple are modeled with Twin Bolt Pistols for aesthetic reasons)
5 x Assault Marine with Plasma Pistol + CCW
2 x Assault Marine with Flamer
3 x Assault Marine Veteran Sergeant with Plasma Pistol + Power Fist
1 x Assault Marine Veteran Sergeant with Plasma Pistol + Power Sword
5 x Space Marine Bikes, 2 with Plasma Guns
1 x Space Marine Attack Bike with Multi-Melta
Heavy Support:
Whirlwind (Converted from Rhino Chassis. this was an old GW recommended coversion back when White Dwarf did those things, back before they even had a Whirlwind kit.)

Here is a Photobucket album with some mediocre photos to give you an idea of the painting quality (Tabletop standard): http://s3.photobucket.com/user/JohnConst/library/Sons%20of%20Corax

If this is an army that interests you, feel free to send me a PM as well.

It's hard to make a value of a lot. Depending on if it's cleaned of mold lines, painted above tabletop or at, anything showcase quality I'd assume the seller knows its value and needless to ask the question.

NIB or new out of box stuff that is not OOP you can get 70-80% of retail. OOP that are sought after you can get quite a bot more depending on the item.

Painted at table top you can get 50-70% of retail, you may think it's awesome but the buyer will probably strip it and repaint it.

Painted at above tabletop by yourself or through a previously painting service you can get 150-200% of retail. Bulk buys you may throw in carrying cases or discounts to encourage the sale. Hope that gives you some insight.

Honestly? The paint isn't very good and you've got two potential buyers: someone who is going to dump the whole army into a bucket of paint stripper and is going to expect a significant discount from full retail to reflect the extra work, and someone who doesn't care how bad the paint is as long as they're really cheap. If you get an offer for anywhere near 50% of retail you should probably consider yourself lucky and take it. And you should be prepared to face the possibility that you might never get an offer of even 10% of retail.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Is this for sale or not? If not, it shouldn't be in Swap Shop.

Dude Peregrine Seriously 10% that's bull hockey. 45-50% off retail is very fair, but to be honest your best bet is break it up into squads and sell each squad or on ebay.

I think you'd be surprised.

Bearing in mind that 70-80% off is available on new models you'd only pay 50% off if you wanted absolutely everything in there.

If you only really wanted 3/4 of the models then it'd cost the same to buy new and not deal with stripping them and putting up with the odd assembly choices (mixture of rhino tracks and chimera tracks on the whirlwind for example).

30% or less is probably where it'd end up in the swapshop or on ebay.

70-80% off on new models? I need your connections lol. Best I have gotten was ever 25% off lol. Anyway, 10% is not uncommon to see. Usually from someone getting out of the hobby for good, or really needs quick money. It really depends on how much you think it is worth. Some like it already being painted and collected. and that is also a factor as to if they want to repaint or not.

Should have said - available for 70-80% of retail. But you knew what I meant...

I have masses of old stuff that I want to get rid of, this is all helpful info.
Only problem is my stuff is quite a few years old and looking on ebay there doesn't seem to be much demand for it.

I've been playing a while, my first model was a lead marine and my first White Dwarf was bound with staples

Pictures would help, otherwise if there painted, don't expect a good price.

While harsh, I think Peregrine has this called pretty close. The paint job is fine, but not noteworthy. It's also only half painted, so it's not like you can market it as table ready to somebody that doesn't want to paint. A lot like this, with no vehicles, not much metal, and multiple conversions, is pretty much destined for the stripping vat, if lucky, or just being straight reprimed. Poking around on ebay, I saw some similar lots going for $120-$150. If you took better pictures, included a full breakdown of what was included, showed how many points it would be, then maybe you can get the higher end of that, but I'd think that reaching half of original retail will be optimistic.

10% is probably too low, I mean, that's $50, but army job lots of built and painted minis tend not to sell for very much.

Here some possible comparison armies that have sold on eBay:
