Subject: I just can't decide. Need advice

I've contemplated for weeks on what army to do. I have my blood Angels essentially done for the moment. I may add a unit or two but that's it. I love planning new strategies, figuring out what works and what I like in armies, I love learning about the fluff and what kind of play style armies have. I also like to paint as well. I've stared at lists, pictures of units, read some fluff, and watched battle reports of numerous different armies. I want something different. I have Blood Angels, and I have a small army of chaos for whenever the book gets redone. I want to start a new project, but have been doing circles for a long time. I've posted here before about this, but I couldn't come to a conclusion. My Blood Angels army is slightly mech, with a few Razorbacks and preds then jump DC, sanguinary guard and frag furioso and sternguard in drop pods. I'm opening it up to all other armies besides space marines. I just want to build, learn, and paint something differently.
Orks came to mind, but the sheer model count intimidates me. I love the look and fluff, I just don't know if I can commit to that manus hours of painting.
Dark Eldar was another one. I also fear the amount of venoms/raiders I would need. Again, the models are awesome.
Necrons. This seems to be a nice opposite of my BA. I like the fluff, but I'm not if I can connect to them.
Tyranids was another one. Again model count and painting made me nervous.
I know I don't want AM, eldar, or sisters.
Help. Any advice would be appreciated. I know the final say comes down to what I like, but my head is spinning and I can't seem to get anywhere with this.

Not pushing you in any particular direction, as I'm sure collecting any of the armies you are looking into would be fun, but its quite possible to have a very low-count Tyranid army. It might be one of the easiest codices to create a low-count army with that exists.
You can have Mucolid Spores as your troops, which are very cheap points-wise, and only require one model per unit. And after that, Nidizilla: you can load up on MCs and FMCs, with zero multi-model units in your army if you don't want them.
Be aware though, that Tyranids are probably one of the least competitive armies out there at the moment.

Gonna echo the sentiment of jasper76. Tyranids are a good choice. Outside of Flyrants and the formations from the Leviathan codex, they aren't terribly competitive.
Orks are in a similar boat. However, you can definitely run them without tons of models. I have a 2k list of Killa Kans, Dakka Jets, Deff Koptas, and some Nobz and Boyz that run less than 60 models total.

I'm gonna recommend Dark Eldar. The model line is gorgeous and great fun to paint. They're wildly different from your BA and should keep you entertained painting wise.

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Thanks for the input guys. It's difficult to decide as I like various things about each, while also having some doubts as well. Tyranids seem cool model wise. I like the big stompy things and the little bugs are cool. The fluff isn't as great to me though. i just am unsure about committing to something and then not too far down the road figuring out I want something else. Orks seem cool too, I just don't know

Orks are great if you enjoy scratch building/kitbashing. Their fluff is hilarious as well. don't be dismayed y the amount of models, just take them a couple at a time.

You can easily get a small army of either and play with it. Download some Kill Team rules, get 250 points of both, and see which you like more.
Do you have any friends/opponents who own either army who would let you play with their army?
