Hi guys!

Played 40k back in about 2003-2004, picked it up again the other week as a few mates are getting into it with me. I'm hoping for a big bunch of help from the kind and benevolent people on here . I've made a unit of custom flayed ones, and I've made one into a flayed lord. My fluff for my unit is they are mostly destroyers with a penchant for CC over shooting to eridacite all life. So my flayed lord will be a CC version of a Destroyer lord. Things is, I/we are so green we haven't even played a game yet. I'm happy to play him as a standard flayed one until we get the hang of things, but would like to play him as I intended when built him. So, my question/cry for help is:

What stat line/fair rules/points/equipment would be OK to use? I'm assuming a higher WS over BS, but as to how much I do not know. And past that I'm at a loss.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

If you want to see pics I just made a thread in the painting/modelling forum

Thanks guys!

From what I heard, Flayed Ones aren't as good in this codex (since Lichguard and Triarch Praetorians kind of dominated the melee role).

I'd say don't go crazy on the WS. Maybe increase WS and at the same time lower BS? If you want a template, you could try changing up the Necron Overlord. Only problem I'd find with using a Flayed One for a lord would be what kinds of equipment would fit for a Flayed One so he stands out from the other Flayed Ones, but without being out of place.

Another thing I'd recommend would be trying to play a few games. It's not easy creating a unit without getting a good feel on how the army operates.

Good luck!

Something along these lines:

WS4 BS4 S5 T5 W2 I2 A2 Ld10 3+
Independent Character, Reanimation Protocols, Preferred Enemy (Everything!)

2 Flayer Claws (Melee, AP5, Shred)
Destabilization Field: Enemy units engaged with this model or his unit must re-roll successful Armor saves.

~90 points base, can take Destroyer Lord options.
