I was just looking through some websites today and I saw these croc "elfball" miniatures by Impact Miniatures and they got me thinking about what sort of cool miniatures there are out there that I probably haven't seen yet.

I was just wondering if Dakka would mind listing their coolest miniatures that most people don't know about. Stuff that is just interesting but not really used for major wargames or just stuff that's out there that has no game tied to it but could be used for stuff.

Things like The Russian Alternative etc.

Impact Miniatures are excellent!

Got a couple of their Fantasy Football teams, cracking sculpts and really good value for money.

Arguably the most obscure Fantasy 6mm on the market with his greek legends range.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Wow, that first one is fantastic! I'm definitely seeing it as a Not-Aragorn in his RotK garb, but that sculpt is just superb! And a steal at only abour £10! Is it 28mm?

Paradigm if you are referring to the Emperor model, it is the tutelary emperor from the french comic novel "Les chronicles de la Lune Noire"
It is awesome and it took me 6 years to collect all the books. And 10 years later i discovered (thanks Dakka) that there was a miniature line.

You shouldn't be worried about the one bullet with your name on it, Boldric. You should be worried about the ones labelled "to whom it may concern"-from Blackadder goes Forth!

Anything from Kingdom Death. Yes, we all know about it here on Dakka but it's more obscure elsewhere.

I was referring the Dasco mini by Origien Art in the post above mine, the clothes, armour, sword and hair reminded me of Aragorn in the costume he wears at the battle of the Black Gates.

These guys are an Australian company. I've got a few of their models and they're stupendously detailed and nice. Though at the moment they're resin master and some of the resin bits are so, so fragile. For example, Nightingale.

Those feathers are about 1/4mm thick. I snapped one just prepping it to build. I also grabbed Nancy.

So far I'm scared to do much else than look at them unbuilt.

Yeah, they are very detailed and very delicate. I'm looking forward to painting Launcelot, his outfit reminds me of Dark Souls, or more specifically, Fashion Souls

A few more personal favourites:

Hell Dorado Demon of Pride

Hell Dorado Demons of Gluttony

Sergeant Blackart Lord Draeg'hon (OOP)

And another one from Nocturna Models because they are my current favourite company (even though they ignored my email ),
Luz (90mm)

Paradigm, I've just measured Dacso for you, he is 34mm to the top of his head.

@nullBolt: Just painted one of those last weekend, it's a fantastic model and the pose is just so nice. Possibly the only Kabuki sculpt I like more than it's FW equivalent. I also did up their not-Vulkan and have their Not-Lorgar to work on, all 3 are very nice indeed.

Pulsating Possessed Chaos Marine

As Vermis said the list could run quite long. I'd stick to four specific model ranges.

First there's MOM Miniatures. Quite good resin models at an excellent price. Their range is so far quite limited, but are releasing new things at a steady rate (specially considering it's an one-man company iirc). So far I've only bought their "Northern Warriors" (picture below), but Chaos Dwarves are coming...
Spoiler:

Second, they've already been mentioned, The Russian Alternative. Previously only holy metal models (although I think they have released some plastic versions as of now). Pretty decent prices for awesome metal models. My favourite ones are obviously their Chaos Dwarves.
Spoiler:

Third, HiTech miniatures. Impressive alternative models for 40k. Not specially cheap, but not terribly expensive either if compared to GW insanity.

Fourth, Gamezone. One of the best fantasy metal ranges I've ever seen, although some of the big models aren't certainly "friendly" for people new to the hobby (in terms of assembly and all that). Were beginning to convert part of their range to nicely priced resin when they got their messy Heroquest project running.

Progress is like a herd of pigs: everybody is interested in the produced benefits, but nobody wants to deal with all the resulting gak.

GW customers deserve every bit of outrageous princing they get.
