Just testing out some color choices, was wondering what you guys think? Crit welcome.

It seems solid, it's clearly an Emperor's children.
But I wish he has more lightning on the edges.

I think the purple looks great. It might just be the lighting but I think you need a little bit more shading around the bumpy bits on the white armour. Otherwise the white is top notch as well!

Are you using a white primer? In some parts like the left forearm it looks a little chalky, like the primer might have been bad.

Might be an idea to swap to a grey, they normally go on a bit smoother.

What kind of process did you use?

Looks quite good. Excellent work

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes

Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

I dont know what to call it but I basically did a gradient from genestealer purple to Dechala lilac while the paint was wet by mixing the two while wet. I then used a blue glaze. then used another layer of watered down of genestealer.

Ill play around and try to mix a color to use for edging, I dont want to do anything to bright.

Also, there is no primer.

Hm, I think the blue glaze added a bit too much blue. Maybe 74/25 or 50/50 blue with purple glazing to still get the blue while still keeping the blue around.

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

That looks pretty gorgeous. My only suggestion would be to possibly add more gold and flair. After all, these are emperors children.

Love it, and it screams EC without being super cartoon cheesy.

A slightly bluer purple than usual for Emperor's Children, but the colours look fine.

So you painted your first layer directly onto the plastic?

I water down the first couple layers so it goes on smooth, but pretty much. Ive never had much luck with primers and i feel i have nore control with the out come this way.

Even though the purple is too fabulous to my taste, you've done a clear and sharp job with the colours. I'd personally darken the purple, but that's just me.

I think the purple should be a bit more purple for the EC but the painting is amazing especially considering you don't use primer.

The purple looks very nice, the white isn't my favourite. It needs something to break it up imo
