Hey guys,

I'm looking for help with converting up an Inquisitor. I've a few aesthetic requirements, but I don't mind general advice.

First up - I don't really want to use Space Marine parts; I consider them waaay too rounded for what I am going for. I get that 'miniaturised' Marine armour is fluffy; but on the tabletop marines aren't truescale and any model wearing marine parts just looks like a marine to me. I'm looking for armour that's a bit more slender and 'elegant;' not quite Eldar, but more 'limber human' than the Marines' 'bulky as crud' stuff. Actually, I consider the bodies of the Stormcast Eternals to be perfect (though they're too tall [afaik] aaand waaaay too expensive); Sisters too are pretty good examples (should consider them for a conversion perhaps).

The second thing is just my personal preferences and what I am imagining. One Inquisitor will be rolling with Stormtroopers (Acolytes) using Kasrkin bodies and Scion heads, as well as Crusaders converted up Chaos Warriors (stole the idea for the conversion someone from the web) using these Admech heads:

The AdMech Rangers heads:

My conversion:

What I'd really like to go for is a guy with a long cloak, lots of cybernetics and the same 'goggled' appearance as his henchmen (when painted, these goggles will have a bright green glow); I like the idea of some masked vaguely inhuman Inquisitor kicking some arse with his similarly modified goons. I'm guessing that I will probably want to base him on somebody from the AdMech range?

The other Inquisitor will be rocking a Hellrifle, so on paper he'll be Ordo Malleus, but I'd like to model him as a Hereticus with a Hochland Long Rifle from my WHFB kits. In visual terms, I'd like him to be a Van Helsing character; again, cybernetics and steampunk additions welcome. Does anyone know how to incorporate a trenchcoat around power armour? I'm not adverse to green stuffing, I did make my own Witch Hunter for my Empire army from near-scratch before, so it's not too daunting... but I would love some inspiration on how to get 'slim' armour.

For coats: Ad Mech is probably a good base, they have coats.

For Power Armour: Coteaz is a good base for an Inquisitor. Scions also give you a good base, arms and torso are armoured, only the legs would need more work.

For the second inquisitor why not look at the old Witch hunter inquisitor model, or Gideon Lorr, chop a few arm pieces replace them with skitarii bits and you have pretty much exactly what you want (cybernetic van helsing).

The Alpha from the Sicarian kit might work well for a basis of your first guy.

Thanks for the advice! I went ahead and ordered the coat from the Tempestus Scions Command Squad - figured I can model an Inquisitor in that with a green stuffed witch hunter's hat; I just need to think of how to accommodate my Hochland Long Rifle that I have spare.

On top o' that, I also ordered the Prime head from the Sicarian Ruststalkers and got a Skitarii body off of Bitz Box. I'll see what I can knock up

Maybe start with an Empire knight or Greatsword body? Then add a tech backpack and cables?

Or maybe on of Dream Forge's figures?

Kabuki-models.com does some realy cool minis that could easily be used to represent a unique Inquisitor. Check out the four generals under their Stand Alone line of minis.
