Hi everyone,

I've been in the process of painting a HH Emperor's Children army for some time now. Now that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and I only need to finish a few things, I'll post some pics of the finished work here.

I'm finishing up in the Storm Eagle as soon as I get the paint I want to use on the cockpit.

Already in basecoat but not finished yet are: 5 tacticals, 5 Palatines with Spears, 1 Lighting Fighter, 1 Anvillus, 1 Rhino




And then there is these which I used to use as Palatines and Fulgrim before I had the real models:

I love that you persisted with NMM Gold the whole way through, that must have been debilitating to get through.

They look really good. The bases provide nice contrast too.

Looking amazing, though I have to ask, is that a power... katana?

Yes it is , that guy was a fun project when I didn't have money to buy anything else. So I build the shield from scratch and came across that katana in a store. I think it kind of looks ok, and everyone accepts it as a paragon blade+boarding shield praetor. You're actually the first person to make a comment about it . Cool of you to notice

It did take some persistency to keep up the NMM gold, but it's worth it in the end... though.. after this army I'll be done with NMM for a while :p.

Top notch work mate, there's so much character to every single model it's fantastic. The Nmm on the gold, the Osl on the eye lenses. And the weathering on the rhino and storm eagle are brilliant.

The purple's great, the snow bases provide a solid contrast and the whole thing's just wonderfully executed. Love the illuminated capitals on Fulgrim's scroll streamers.

I gave the Storm Eagle a clear red cockpit (using Tamiya clear red), and the result really makes me happy . Just need to give it 2 'white' areas on the side of the nose, and it's done (but the paint I need for this has dried out, so I can't do that right now. These GW bottles are the worst.)

Also finished all 5 heads of the 5 phoenix spear palatines I converted, and finished 1 body.
Once I'm done with those, the hard work is done and all that's left to do is paint 5 tacticals and some vehicles (which take a lot of time too, but are quite straightforward).

Still working on the army list I'll use with my army. I'm starting to get frustrated by the storm eagle ALWAYS getting shot down the turn after it arrived. So I changed both contemptors to contemptor mortis, one with lascannons and 1 with autocannons. Hopefully they will have the range to take out any fliers the turn they come in, that want to threaten the eagle.

EC really need an update across the board. Better ROW, better legion rules and cheaper/better special units.

At least the models are awesome

i don't normally like Emperor's Children but for these I'll make an exception. Fantastic.

I really like the army if you only changed the blade color of fulgrims blade to maybe a gold nmm or maybe and exotic/alien type nmm it looks to much like his hair.

I hear what you're saying, I will very most likely give all metal swords and spears in the army a do-over at the end. They are very quickly done atm, cause I didnt really know how I wanted them to look.
Notheless, I will keep the sword of Fulgrim a 'silver' version, for I'm quite traditional and I feel like thats what it should look like. But hopefully I can improve on the current look later.

It is a true shame these guys ended up being Traitors, they look so good as loyalists.

I couldn't agree more.
Everyone loves the kakaphony models, all I thought when they came out was: darn, so all models from now on belong to the post heresy EC. More deamon, less elegance :(.

I was so happy when Eidolon came out and he still had the loyalist elegant EC look .

Next legion I'll paint, will be one that remained loyal. Can't decide which one yet.
