Hey guys,

I started playing Infinity in September, after being orphaned by WHFB a couple of months earlier. What drew me into Infinity was mostly the miniatures, and they're definitely the most rewarding ones that I've painted so far. I think that I've improved a fair amount since I started a couple of months ago. My inspiration comes from Ron Cobb's concept art for Alien, Moebius' artwork, and a little bit of Vietnam War GI humor for the freehand. This will be a log in chronological order of my progress. Let's get started, shall we?
[if you see any white spots on the models, that's generally either glare or botched matt varnish, not exposed primer - I prime in black]

Here's the first model that I painted from the range:

I thought that it would be pretty ironic for a mercenary to have a peace sign printed on her kevlar vest, so that's how I added some character to the model.

(I apologize for the terrible photos - my current setup is a cardboard box and a phone)

Shortly afterwards, I painted my next one. I'll play him as Moran Maasai Hunter because I only needed one Interventor model, and I preferred the other sculpt. Here you can see where I started to experiment more with freehand and shading. I still need to find some suitable koalas to complete him, but this is how he stands now:

After that, I painted this guy:

I'm pleased with how his face came out, even if the pictures don't really do it justice. I had some more fun doing freehand on his vest as well. Unfortunately, because his hands were in the way, I could only find room on the back of his vest.

Up next came another Alguacil. I sculpted some very basic shoulder armor so that I can comfortably use her as MI (i.e. Intruder, Moira, etc.) when the need arises. The photos washed out a lot of the depth, especially on the HMG, but you can still roughly make out the facial features:

Ha! Did you think that the next one was going to be something other than an Alguacil? If so, then you were wrong:

The most recent miniature that I fully completed was my LT, the Interventor. I'm particularly pleased with the freehand here:

This is another photo from a slightly different angle so that you can see more of the details:

Most recently, I have been working on a Moderator, this time with a slightly different set of techniques. He's still pretty early-on in the process, but I thought that it might be good to get some critique. Oddly enough, this might be my favorite miniature that I own right now. In a world of mechs, powered armor, alien invasions, bizarre body modifications, and virulent hacking, this is just such a normal guy. He's pretty scrawny, and even his slacks are too long for him, hence they're rolled up at the bottom. I guess that it could be a self-portrait of sorts, so I intend to use him as my Vortex in future games.

Thanks for reading through this monster of a post. What do you guys think? How might I improve my work? I'm aware that the bases are quite bland, and I'd love some ideas on how to bring them up to snuff.
