I bought the betrayal at calth set to boost my current ranks, (as of inventorying last week, I have 13,000 points worth of blood angels!) and I intend on keeping some of the units as they are, so I'll probably use of the tactical squads as a tac squad, and keep the termies as a termie assault squad, however, I've been toying with the idea of converting models into other units, I'm planning the following:

- 10 man death company squad
- 5 man sterngaurd squad (one of the few BA units I don't currently have!)
- Devastator squad
- converting up several sergeants to look more like veteran sergeants in older armour

I think the heresy era armour will look great against the newer armour, especially the veterans and the death company

I've already converted:
- the chaplain, using a sanguinary guard jump pack and a set of Astorath's wings to turn him into a jump pack chaplian,
- the Terminator Character into a terminator captain with a lighnitng claw instead of power fist using a blood angel assault terminator lightning claw
- modified the contemptor dreadnought into a more dynamic pose.

What conversions have you guys done? what other units are you using yours as?

No offense but why not keep them as is?

You obviously love the Angels, so why not build them out 30k style?

Sanguinius is going to be an amazing primarch?

That being said the older armour will look awesome for your chapter.

I put a LC on the TDA captain, just used the one from the tac squads. Simple job to cut the c-melta off and fix it to the gauntlet.


The PA guys are going to be built normally, as either vet tacs/sternguard/regular tacs/whatever. Not sure on the terminators yet.

I do love the armour but I already have over 100 marines that are armed with just a boltgun, to be spread amongst various squads (tac, dev etc) so I don't want another 30 tactical marines.

I like running fluffy lists so tend to run death company and from time to time sternguard units (proxying standard marines/vanguard marines). As there's so many models with the 30K style armour, I want to spread the 30K love around my army

I made the chaplain into Sicarius.

Really nothing wrong with doing whatever you want with them tbh.

Terminators my fiancee decided would all get claws cause it looked the best for them. Tacticals I'll probably build some as they come and mix others with normal tactical marines to make stuff like devistators and whatever really. Captain I'm kicking around ideas to use as a librarian.

Trying to decide what tondo with the last ten from my two boxes. Maybe buy a box of tactical marines, cut them all off the sprue (gluing torsos together) and just mix and matching to squads together. Maybe throw In an Ultramarines upgrade kit and go for it.

I really like the idea of veteran sgts, it makes a lot of sense, that contemptor is hella ugly though, but other than that I think spreading them around your force would be super legit.

Bac units are good for csm player. Specially alpha legion or other not so mutated war band. I paint them to colors of thousand sons.
