With the old fluff about hating psykers, how did the BT deal with enemy psykers...it isn't like psykers are rare and it seems rather silly to just not bring along a capability. Granted, 40k is not logical, but is there a fluff way that BT deal with enemy psykers other than pretending they don't exist.

I know the new fluff changes this...I am asking about the old fluff.

A bolt round to the head tends to hamper most psychic activity. Also, chainswords are very disruptive to maintaining focus when they are lopping off limbs.

Faith in the Emperor also does wonders for keeping the hostile space magics off.

(Sorry I can give more concrete answers, but this is always been my impression on how BT deal with them)

Nope, Nevelon's answers are pretty much on the point. Templars used to have an ability similar to the Sororitas' Shield of Faith by which they could ignore all incoming psychic powers on a 6+ if they chose the correct Vow during deployment.

Pretty much. There's nothing wrong in 40k with matching psychic might against strength of will and indoctrination. It's part of why faith in the Emperor is such an important tool in the first place.

The "Armor of Contempt" as it is sometimes referred to. So disdainful are they of such sorcerous tricks that they simply glare it away.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

What edition and book is that rule in?

For some reason the mental picture of a contemptuous Black Templar Chaplain hunting down enemy psykers is so much more satisfying that librarian pew pew...and may change the way my wife's Lamenters are finally built...more BT than BA...once I master that OMFG difficult checkerboard pattern :(
