Death-Dealing Dark Angels Devastator

Hello everyone. Let me give you the overview of my current situation: I'm planning to display a piece to showcase at an exhibition where I will showcasing painted infantry models and a tank model. I plan to mount this on a wooden pedestal or some sort of wooden mount. I'm hoping that the mount is made of a dark wood, is tall enough to put a plaque on (detailing my name and the piece title), but also small enough to not take up to much space ( 1-2 cm height).

What type of store would I go to find something like this in? Would it be a art store, hobby store, etc.?

Cheers

Slightly modified picture/mirror frames as well as trophy and taxidermy mounts are generally a good start for this type of thing.

Shadow box picture frames are a good place to start if you want to make a small diorama. If you are just displaying a single miniature, what you are looking for is a plinth.
