So, I'm planning to use my Age of Sigmar minis as a KOW army using the ogre rules since they're bigger models, and just using a few Basilea Elohi allies to count as the guys with big wings. I put together a list with everything I have that comes out to 1410 points. What's a common size for most armies? So far my army consists of everything from the starter set + 1 unit of the guys with guns, and 1 extra unit of flying guys. So here's my list so far

1 Lord-Celestant - Ogre Warlord on a chariot with 2 handed weapon
1 Lord-Relictor - Army Standard
2 Liberator Hordes - Warriors
1 Judicator Horde - Shooters
1 Retributor Regiment - Warriors w/ 2 handed weapons
2 Prosecutor Regiments - Elohi

Since my GW units are just 5 models, I figured I'd just put them on a movement tray and leave space in the middle in the back to use dice to track the amount of wounds left.

I think that's everything. I think I'd like to pick up the Celestian Prime model some day, I guess he could count as a giant? or a mammoth? I was also thinking about picking up a box of the empire gryphon rider guys, and I figured those could count as a unit of ogre chariots.

What else would be good to add to the army? I'd like to try and keep it as mostly all counts as ogres though

Its not the most diverse list ever, but throw a "Brew of Keen-Eyeness" on that Shooter horde, and you actually have a very reasonable 1500pt list with a few points to spend else-where.

I'm not usually one to go heavy on Magic Items, but Keen Eyes are BRUTAL (pardon the rules pun) on Hordes of Shooters.

Also, IMO Liberators make better Siege Breakers as they are described as wielding huge shields and big hammers... plus, they're just an amazing unit.

Oh, and to answer your question, 1500pt games are very common and reasonable, though 2000pts is the sweet-spot for a "full" army where you will likely find most formal events.

I like the game up to 2500pts as you still make meaningful choices. Beyond that is fun, but a novelty for friends, really.

Cool I'll switch them to siege breakers then. And the Brew too, I haven't really looked into much of the magic items yet. Gotta start playing some games, but my super limited schedule makes it tough :/

Yeah, Keen-Eyes is VERY pricey as items go (45pts iirc), but due to their innate Piercing(2), you're mathematically getting a lot of mileage out of boosting their RA to 4+.

Those, and Twilight Kin Crossbows as a Horde, with the Piercing(1) item are, IMO, the most potent shooting in the game. The later of which with a caster to Bane-Chant them is horrific. :-p

I agree with the Siege Breaker thing since, if nothing else, you might as well use the figures with the big shields as the unit whose defining trait is having big shields.

For the Celestant Prime, as long as you have the Elohi in there that would make Ur-Elohi or one of the named Basilean heroes an option.

Yeah, but I think you could called out on the "Exceptional Base Size". Isn't the Celestant Prime on an enormous scenic base?

Oh yeah, that could be a problem for him for any KOW hero, really. Googling it, he's on a 100mm, right? Yeah, that's kind of oversized. Maybe use him with the stats of a horde of something? You'd be breaking suggested model count rules, but it would allow you to follow base size rules more closely.
