So I have an army point limit of 550, and after some revisions from my previous army list I have decided to build a more Tzeentch based Chaos Daemon army. It was recommended to me to build the following:

2 troops of 11 Pink Horrors (22 Pink Horrors in total)

1 Herald of Tzeentch (upgrades not specified)

But I'm not sure what to build to compliment these units, apparently summoning is very powerful (Yet I still don't understand what summoning is so if anyone would like to elaborate in the comments that would be great) so I decided to follow the recommendations of people on the forum, I would really enjoy having a melee troop as part of this army to try and keep the fire away from my pink horrors, although I'm not sure what to take as I've been told conflicting things about plaguebearers and heralds of Nurgle and I don't know much about Khorn units. I'm also not sure what items to build for my Herald of Tzeentch, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Well at 550 points, summoning is very powerful if you can get enough warp charges to do it. It's just the primaris psychic power from Malefic Daemonology, which allows you to summon a squad of 10 plaguebearers, daemonettes, bloodletters, pink horrors, 3 nurglings, or 5 flesh hounds (there may be more in there but I can't think of it). It's hard to cast at Warp Charge 3, meaning you need 3 successes to get it off. This means you need to chuck 7-8 dice at it to make it go off reliably.

You'll also likely want your pink horrors to do this since they will get a spell for being Brotherhood of Sorcerers. It also means you need to own lots of models if you want to do lots of it. The best things to summon are either another squad of pink horrors for more warp charges, or 10 daemonettes because they are fast, have lots of attacks, and rending.

For the rest of the army decide what you want. A herald of a disc of tzeentch is good, and he can run with some Screamers of Tzeentch. In higher point games if you put 1-2 disc heralds with a large squad of screamers, take the Grimoire of True Names, and Kairos Fateweaver, it is a very strong unit usually called "Screamerstar".

Other useful fast units would be Plague Drones, Seekers (sort of), and Flesh Hounds. Usually you'll want large squads to reduce the chances of needing a Daemonic Instability check if you fail combat.

At such low points your best bet is probably a bunch of Flesh Hounds, and maybe a Soul Grinder in case someone has vehicles. The Screamers are also good at taking out vehicles, but they are a relatively expensive unit (40 points each).

So look into how you want to proceed at higher points and go from there.
