Since I didn't like the old....no ancient... Ork buggies at all I decided to convert some of my own. I had a Elysian buggy lying around somewhere doing nothing and thus grabbed it as a base for my Ork buggy conversion. HEre's the result of the first one:

I personally quite like it and will have to do more, thus I ordered a couple more and some parts which are needed to build it. Next to the Elysian Tauros buggy I used the wheels from an ork trukk, rockets from a Dakkajet, some bits from a dread and gretchin crewmembers. For the flamer-buggy I am currently working on I am using the bigger Elysian buggy with six wheels. It has a resolving grot-operated-turret.

Looks pretty neat. Reminds me of the bandit jeeps from Borderlands.
Good luck on the Tauros buggy!

Pure win!

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Facts are chains that bind perception and fetter truth. For a man can remake the world if he has a dream and no facts to cloud his mind.

I never heard of Jak 3 but I can see the similarities.

Currently working on a Taurus with skorcha, when I've finished it I will post it here.

It took me quite some time, but buggy two and three are ready. One has a magnetised rokkit/skorcha. For the other one this was not possible due to the size of the flamer and the grot which is trying to 'fire it up'. I like to include this comic-style moments in my models and grots are just awesome for doing just that. Took a bit of conversion to get this lad hanging from the flamer but I quite like the result.

Here's a close-up of the little grot and his lighter. I am not sure if this is a really safe way to ready your weapon when driving at full speed. But hey, they are gretchin, who cares!

And a group shot of the first three buggies (out of a planned six).

They look great, Top job!
I like how you used gretchin too. The old buggies are far too small for orks, this works really well and keeps them the same size as the originals.

These look fantastic, but the yellow with black and white checks makes me think of them as an Ork Taxi Service!

Brilliant looking buggies! Spot-on thematically and 100% what the buggy kit GW will hopefully release soon should look like.
