Hi everyone, just picked up my copy of Betrayal at Calth and the models look great. I'd love to see what others have done with there models... painting and converting and everything else! Post the pics here or a link to them and share with us all to enjoy.

Working on the first Marine now. I'll post pictures once he's close to being done.

Bought two sets, going to go Sons of Horus with the Ultra side (terminator heavy and Abby as the hero) and Alpha Legion with the WB side (favorite chaos legion since 3rd edition based on their color). I haven't gotten to paint them yet as I am really taking my time with these gorgeous minis, making sure each pose is great.

I have found that all other marine kit bits cut and fit perfect. The Sergeant pistol arm is rather lacking in motion, so I used some assault marine arm pieces (from the shoulder to the elbow pad), spliced in so the arms are still MK IV.

I will post pics of what I have in several days when I have more completed. I'm not sure what to do for the SOH color scheme.

Here's a quickie of my first painted mini from the set (it only arrived this afternoon!), I'll get more when I've got to grip with my new camera.

Veteran Sergeant Ash'dreyak, Salamanders Legion, Survivor of the Dropsite Massacre:

All parts are from the BaC sprue, the only conversion here was shaving downt the inside of the shoulder to get a slightly different angle on the sword arm. There will be plenty of conversions to come, I'm just waiting on some GS.

Still assembling mine here.

Minor conversion on the TDA captain, swapped the c-melta for a LC

And the first squad

Sarge had both arms magnetized, as is the flamer.

Cool thread!

@Nevelon - nice builds, and good job on the magnetizing!

Here are the 3 character models that I finished.

Do you paint in parts Talys? Or fully assemble? I’m a partial kinda guy. One things with the characters from this set is the hidden detail. I think I left the TDA captain in 4 parts. There was no way I was going to be able to get a brush to his head (much less the area behind it) if everything was glued.

Normally I do all my magnet work at the shoulder. I did the flamer at the wrist, and it was a lot easier then normal. I don’t think the parts are significantly thicker. But the armored wrist-guards do a great job hiding the connection point.

Test for my Raven Guard scheme, with a better shot of the Salamander as well:

Again, no real conversion here beyond carving the battle damage.

I don't know if I am going to get the whole box set, but I know I want the Termi captain, and maybe the entire squad of them too, to add to my old Space Wolves 13th company army that I've had since 4th edition.

As they are all actually pre-heresy marines lost in time because of the warp, that pattern of Terminator armor would be both striking looking versus what normal 40k armies are going to usually field, and thematically cool, too.

Looking nice guys, I'm thinking about getting the box, but will have to part with some other hobby stuff first. Love the idea of magnetizing the arms, will be playing with family and friends most of the time. Nice way of them choosing the weapons.

I use Photoshop, but it could really be anything (GiMP, PhotoPaint, etc.) -- all I really do is resize, crop, and paste
