I have some older Space Marines from a Strike Force box I bought in 2013. I'm assembling some of the Marines to be converted as Sternguard (giving them extra bling) but the bases are the smaller kind that GW used to use. Does it matter if they're based on these bases since they updated the base size to 32mm? Does it matter if there is mixed bases in an army? I'm pretty sure no because I don't recall ever hearing anyone having to rebase, but want to make sure since I have to use what I have available.

Nope, doesn't matter a bit. Whatever base the model came with is the appropriate base. So for marines, 25mm or 32mm are equally appropriate. It's mostly an aesthetic thing. Mixed base sizes would drive me crazy personally!

This. I'm going to have to go buy 25mm bases when I add to my RG army.

32mm is actually pretty damn nice for Space Marines. You don't get that slight overhang you get with 25mm ones. So your fingers won't rub any paint off the feet when you handle them. Plus they have a much improved presence on the tabletop.

Just my 2 cents..
