After some months of being away from the hobby for lack of motivations, all the new 40K releases brought me back to the game. In the struggle to became a better painter (or a painter at all!) I've decided to start this thread, along to my blog, to collect and track my progress on the many many project I've laying around in the hope to complete at least some of them

I've started to play 40K five or six years ago (if I remember correctly) with my beloved Eldar, an army I've chosen for it's beautiful miniatures without even known what an Eldar was or anything about their background and in the following years I've started to collect many miniatures from that and other ranges produced by GW (and FW). As a result, this log is going to be a collection of different project and a way to get feedback and help on them from you guys

The first subject of this log is a couple of test models I've painted today for an pre-heresy era Emperor's Children army I'm building from a couple of Betrayal at Calth boxes:

I was going for a metallic-purple look similar to the illustrations in the first book of The Horus Heresy instead of the opaque purple typical of FW models. I'm not so sure about the steel helmet, maybe I should keep it purple with only the mask in gold

What do you guys think? I would really appreciate and comment or critique on the model / paint job

Hi,

I looked at the photos on your blog. I agree with the commenter about keeping the helmet steel and adding a few more details. The metallic purple you used is vibrant and looks great!
