Hey so this is my first post, I've been playing 40k for about 5 months now and here is my competitive list so far.
HQ;
Warpsmith, Aura of Dark Glory 125pts
Elites;
9x Noise Marines, 8x Sonic blasters, 8x close combat weapons, Combi-bolter for champ, w/ Rhino (with a dozerblade) 238pts
9x Noise Marines, as above
Troops;
10x Cultists, autoguns 59pts
10x Cultists, as above
Fast Attack;
5x Raptors, 2x Meltaguns, 1x Combi-melta for champ 125pts
5x Raptors, as above
Heavy Support;
1x Sicaran, Lascannons, dozerblade, Fourth Quadrant Rebellion Legacy 195pts
1x Sicaran, as above minus the legacy 180pts
5x Havocs, 4x Lascannons 155pts
Noise marines are for scything down infantry, Raptors deep strike and shoot heavy armour, Cultists sit on objectives, Havocs for heavy armour and Sicarans to shoot at anything and everything. Any criticism welcome.

While I haven't played competitive the list feels fragile. As there isn't any c/c you are relying on out shooting your opponent which may be troublesome against armies such as Tau or Eldar that are better suited to playing a run and gun game than Chaos.
Maybe consolidating the raptors into one unit to make them less fragile and replacing a sicarian with a Defiler?

I think the tri las pred mahbe better than the las havocs. You already have 4 vehicles may as well saturate.

Agree with Filch, Tri-Las will integrate well with this list, supporting the Sicarans. Don't swap a Sicaran for a Defiler. Remember Sicarans are fast tanks so they can also run away from CC threats.

drop the combi-bolter they are worthless, drop the ccw they wont do you any good with so much overwatch, i suggest you take the spare points and get a las pred and some metla bombs. maybe get some extra preds if you can

Thanks for the advice guys, so the whole point of the raptors is to deep strike and use the melta weapons to destroy vehicles, I don't expect them to last the opponents next turn hence no melta bombs, I can't consolidate the unit because raptors are limited to two melta guns per unit. The reason for the cc weapons on the NM's is because for the last two games my over watch has never been enough and because I have such a good armour save the combat goes on for at least three turns. The combibolter is to add weight of fire to the unit otherwise the champion is a dud model, it's only 3 points.
Also my friend has said las havocs are better than las preds, what is the advantage of preds over havocs?

I actually like the list. Let us know how it goes, especially the Sicarans, I was considering picking some up for my Ultramarines (I know it'll be a little different for CSM as opposed to Loyalists, but I want to know)

Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

I think this list looks pretty fun actually, I like it a lot. The las Pred is a solid choice. Although I know the sicarans shooting capabilities, what is to stop you from adding a third in there

you wanting to use the cultists for anything?
As you could always drop them for a mos lord(chuck him in one of the noise marine sqauds for more killy) then swap the raptors for termicide squads.
Might actually be able to afford to keep a cultist squad.

So I tested the list yesterday, this was my opponents list;
Warpsmith
2x 10man CSM squads w/ 2x meltas
15x (I think) Berserkers
1x Spartan Assault tank
2x Sicarans w/ lascannons and Havoc Launchers
We played on a 4' by 4' table.
I won 9-2, my warpsmith was probably MVP, he repaired HP/weapons and remobilised one sicaran every turn without fail. Basically everything done it's job, the cultists managed to kill 3x beserkers which is quite an accomplishment. The Havocs were positioned high and took fire from a Sicaran resulting in 2 dead and the rest failing leadership (they came back later on and managed to kill the enemy Warpsmith). Can't really tell if a las pred would have done better but I'll keep it in mind. The only problem I had with this list was the Sicarans had a really tough time dealing with armour, once the Havocs lost the high ground it became a cripple fight between the 4 Sicarans, by turn 5 only Sicaran was gone (1 of mine).
How can I increase my high strength and what should I cull? I was thinking about replacing Raptors with Blight drones (their weapon is 36", S8, AP3, 5" Blast)
