Very new to any kind of space marines, I have only played Necrons and Nids so this is a very new army to me. Any help is welcome. Most of this I already have and am making it work. But i haven't played a game yet so this is my first attempt at a list.

if you are trying to be competitive then this simply wont do, but if you want general advice i would say that you drop the warp talons because they are useless i wont provide an explanation unless asked. the termies are too stuffed and have too many options they are best used in min squads with 3 meltas, the bloodletters are best made cheap give them nothing. the slaughtercult looks useless and i cant see any viable tactic, dont take the combat familiar and never mix a combi weapon and a lc. the forgefiend although my favorite model its pretty bad you get more out of a soul grinder. sorry if i was rude through out the criticism i only wish to see you succeed make sure you tell us what your plan is and how do you feel about this.

Competitive eventually. All these models were bought for painting mostly. But i do appreciate the input.

I have never even played against this army so i honestly have no idea what I am doing. I have been watching some videos in my free time but everyone plays so differently its annoying. Plus i only watch while I'm at work and that doesn't help.

Slaughter cult AND a CAD doesn't feel good to me. If you're going down the cult route, stick to formations and maybe some optimum allies.

So one option would be to drop the talons and take the bloodcrusher /terminator formation.

the things daemonkin do well are moving very fast, and having a lot of small, fearless units that move very fast. it's why most everyone recommends using the gorepack formation.
daemon heavy lists appear to be the more competitive option. i wouldn't say my list is super competitive, but i only use about a dozen guys in power armor including my chaos lord on a juggernaut and possessed(2000 points).

as is, you almost have the models to fit all of your stuff into a blood host, using the slaughter cult as the core, and then adding the brazen onslaught formation as an auxiliary.

a few things i noticed in your list:
-i also kit two squads of bloodletters with the works, but then i have up to 3 soul grinders in reserve who use those bloodletters as drop beacons. if you're going to give them banners and instruments for reserve manipulation, you probably want something big and mean in reserves to abuse that.
-the possessed need a transport as well. if you have enough targets moving forward, they may well get ignored. these guys aren't dead weight if they get into combat.
-keep the two solo spawn. they're just so useful in maelstrom games. and in combination with 4 units of 5 hounds from a gorepack, it's just ridiculous how mobile and flexible you become, plus, it can be really useful if they eat some fire and die.
-i really like the forge fiend, but i would combo in 2 friends for it. i like soul grinders (see above), but target saturation leads to survivability.
-the D thirster is really good.
-i think there is merit to using the blood host over the CAD, it feels a bit fluffier, but the big advantage i see is that it allows you to hit a slightly better blood tithe result earlier in the game. you don't need to rely on units dying to get up to the second result, which you'd probably want to use turn 2 anyway, as most of your stuff is about ready to charge in for combat that turn.

kdk plays in different ways. but they are a mono build army meaning that they can really be good if they play one specific way which is flesh hounds. but there are other ways you can win with the army if you are playing a tournament scene then i do not recommend this

army list potentials:
min bloodhost with 8 soul grinders or maulerfiends make sure to ally in heldrakes and warpsmith to prevent immoblization

max min squads and spam daemons

gorepack with d-thirster and maulerfiends
