Subject: Is Khorne Bloodbound a good army in AoS? A fun army?

I just got my copy of the Age of Sigmar starter set delivered. The Stormshield Eternal models are already ear-marked for 30k use. I had toyed with the idea of using the Khorne models for 30k or 40k as well, but now I'm just wondering if I should keep them unmodified and do up an AoS Khorne army, on the off chance I ever meet people who play AoS. I have a couple related questions. Any help would be much appreciated.
Are Khorne Bloodbound any good in AoS? Are they a fun army?
As I alluded to, noone in my area is playing AoS..the fantasy-type gamers at my flgs continue to play the last version of WFB. Are the Khorne contents from the starter set usable in WFB?

Khorne Bloodbound is what I'd call a momentum army.Once it starts killing stuff it gets better and better. The Bloodbound is great fun but requires just a bit more thought and finesse than the Stormcasts.

Thanks! Do you know offhand if they have rules in WHFB? Or are they a brand new army like Stormcasts?

You can use them in WHFB just fine! The only new models are those in the box set and they have WHFB counterparts mostly - Blood Reavers = Marauders, Blood Warriors = Chaos Warriors with 2 hand weapons. Only the Big beastie (korograth?) and the blood stoker don't have parallels - but any big monster (like a chaos spawn) will suffice.
You'll need 3 books to get all the rules: Warriors of Chaos and Daemons of Chaos army books and the End Times V: Archaon to get all the rules for the different units available.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-) |

Some of the units don't have rules per se (like the grinder and the priest and the New Archaon) But you can use them as champions.

Thanks for the info regarding WHFB compatibility!
You know, after reading through the rules and most of the Age of Sigmar starter book, there is something kind of refreshing about AoS' simplicity. I still have lots of fun playing 40k, but the volume of rules is pretty cumbersome, so the simplicity here is kind of attractive to me.

It is a big factor You can sit down and just... play, rather than get caught up in the rules (which can always provide a sort of disconnect with what is actually happening on the table, if you see what I mean).

I certainly know what you mean. There is little I can think of that removes you from game immersion more than having to spend alot of time looking up rules, or having to wait for your opponent as they spend alot of time looking up rules.
