I just watched the new GW video on painting Archaon, and watching all the detail that went into Dorghar made me get an old familiar itch to paint some dragons. I'm a D&Der from back in the 80's, so I've always had a soft spot for the old chromatic dragons and I realize that that is something I'd really like to paint, a whole series of dragon figures (red, green, black, etc). Thing is, I don't see any such series, so I assume it doesn't exist. I'm starting to look around for really good quality dragon minis I could paint to my satisfaction. I throw the floor open to any and all suggestions!

Reaper Bones has some pretty nice dragon models and they're usually pretty decently priced.

And some, I assume, are good people."

Yeah, they're on my radar. I remember their Kickstarter. It was pretty epic what they were working on.

Depending on your budget, Mierce has at least one awesome looking Dragon I know maybe more. Also the Gale Force Nine collectors series has a Dracolich and a Red Dragon model.

I absolutely hate the bones stuff (the softness of the plastic softens some of the detail and they're awful to try to clean mold lines off of) but Reaper has some stunning (and huge) dragons in metal.

Some of the '80's dragons are still around, and still some of the best dragons on the market. Ex-Grenadier models at Mirliton.

Some - including ones that Mirliton hasn't rereleased - pop up on ebay regularly, for roundabout £25-40.

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.
