Recently got a big lot of thirty Khorne Berserkers and I keep reading about how subpar the unit is.
Is anyone having any luck with them?
How do you use them?
Should I just convert them to Marked Marines (Khorne Chosen/Raptors/Havocslol)?

Well, khorn havocs really is a lol.

Khorne CSM are decent enough, raptors are meh.

But zerkers. they work quite well in the KDK army, filling the niche of horde cleaners-you keep them in small squads, and just throw them running into the enemy lines.
They die-they caught a few bullets, and generated some charge.
Only a few made it-at the least they'll eat overwatch, and cause some damage.
Most of the 8 made it? (KDK has them minimum 8), well, I hope the target has some decent armor, or they are getting shredded.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

If you have Huron or Ahriman as your Warlord, some Berzerkers or just Khorne CSM are pretty effective at getting in the way. 18" away from the enemy in a big blob of toothy nope, blocking the enemy advance while you leisurely move forward behind them. And if they are foolish enough not to shoot at the Marines, they get hit with the equivalent of an Ork Horde. Not much survives that kind of attention.

Zerkers are overcosted for what they do. But regular marines with mok have uses. You could run 20 of them with Cypher. Or 18-19with some character in a bunker with escape hatch. Could make them invisible. Could run them as khornate chosen in a dreadclaw.
However, there is a way of making zerkers viable. It's a formation with Kharibdys. They got to charge the turn they land. Or you could run zerkers with non-fearless characters where it would matter. For example, with sorc. But i doubt it's a good idea from fluff perspective.

Thinking about it some more, If I added Kharn and a Sorcerer (Crimson Slaughter for Slaughterers Horns) to a big blob it might work. That's a lot of points though, I could run a slaanesh marked blob with FNP for less and it would be more survivable.

I haven't seen the Kharibdys formation, where could I find that?

For the upmost heresy Ill make them Khorne Havocs and run a sorcerer with the star to roll divination

MoK Marines are much better. Once you add the Banner, the only thing you're missing is Fearless, which isn't doing much when everything is shot to death in one round.

You are also missing AP4 attacks.
Not relevant against marines, MCs and TeQ-but VERY important in their role as horde-cleaners.
Hordes are not in the meta right now, true. but if a horde army ever rises up the rank, the zerker's AP4 attacks will be very relevant in chopping them.

That makes them 22 points, which is hardly any good. If Chain Axes were standard that would be a fair point, but if you wanna go in that route and tailor for hordes, the Vanilla squad can purchase two Flamers and a Combi-Flamer and charge, or just shoot with Bolters and get a simple Counter Attack bonus.

Berserker Marines are ridiculously outclassed.

Also, don't mock khorne havocs. Remember that you can take additional close combat weapons and four flamers.

I'll take that over AP4 chainaxes.

I'd probably use Bezerkers as Khorne Chosen. You lose out on Fearless but get much better weapon options and are a lot more effective in a sustained fight - and you probably have a fearless character leading them anyway.

In a khorne daemonkin army, you're wanting every unit to be disposable, so saving umpty-ump points on melee armed chaos marines rather than bezerkers means more dudes elsewhere.

Forgot havocs can play as special weapon platform as well, rather than just heavies.

I run CCW/Pistol CSM in my Daemonkin army rather than Berserkers. I like the Berserker models, but like a lot of people have mentioned they are overcosted for what they do. I take 2 meltaguns in my CSM squad, meaning they can put some good shooting on a harder target (like TEQ) and still charge. Of course, charging TEQ with MEQ usually isn't such a great idea...

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700
