So i recently picked up an army in a huge pile I purchased and would like some help building a list to test it out and play it, i'm still learning the game via ultramarines but i've been a buyer/collector for years.
I'd like to play 1500 or 1850 as thats what my usual play partner and I run in our normal armies.
I do have a large collection of normal CSM stuff that i could add to it like helldrakes, oblits, preds, hellbrutes, cultists LOTS of cultists, spawn and other stuff I can also expand if needed, for example if you guys think 12 raptors would be great i can up the number but i'd like to use as many of these new models as possible while still being competitive. Just for an example my opponent is either going to be running a grey knight tourney army or his guard with an imperial knight allied with guard running pask and his buddy in 2 punisher tanks. aka pretty competitive as well.

Put the Lord in one of the Bike squads, and rush him at the other guys big character, Send rhino noise marines after infantry and the CSMs after tanks, use the big deathstar with the sorcerer to advance behind the rhinos, and/or hold objectives. If you get the power that bumps sonic weapons up by +1 Str. You can also hunker them down in cover and try to knock out armor. Use the DSing Raptors to knock out any back line artillery pieces. Also a good chunk of your army has Feel No Pain

plasma pistols are not worth it.

I think they are. Str 7 Ap2 and can still assault after shooting is nice these days.
