What happened to the big 'ol blue cute lizard people I used to love so much? I looked around for a newish HQ as I wished to enter the army in an upcoming comp in my area, and the only thing I found on the shelves was a box of skinks, steggy and a carno, there wasn't anymore room for other boxes either, have they dispersed and disappeared? Or is there something in the fluff that deleted them from Fantasy?

In case you missed Age of Sigmar,
TL R is that the world ended and got destroyed by Chaos. Sigmar basically then is able to reforge some of reality back together and mortals continue to live in these chunks of the old world. The Lizardmen survived because it turns out all their temple cities were also space ships so they were able to survive the apocalypse. Lord Croak however did not survive

...I have bad news for you, then...
Basically, the only lizardmen left alive are the remaining slann. All others are memories or crystallized magic or something summoned by said slann to do battle against Chaos. Someone who has any of the Age of Sigmar books might be able to provide more detail, but Kroq-Gar is definitely gone (except for, of course, the magic memory of him that can be summoned up to fight) and I don't think Mazdamundi's been mentioned.

Of course this is all just game fluff. You can happily ignore it and have a mighty empire of Lizard Men living somewhere in the Realms.
I actually rather like the idea of the Space Slann teleporting dinosaur shock troops down from their orbital battle stations on to the battlefield.
